OT - What does this have to do with Christmas?

I've always thought Google was creepy and kooky.

Have you informed Google? They probably were unaware of Christmas in the Julian Calendar.

Alternatively, (if you use Chrome), have a permanent background of your choice. Mine is the chapel at Keble College.

They did it because today is Charles Addams' 100th birthday.

Perhaps you could submit a Christmas doodle for next year

There is a very very very small group of people celebrating Christmas in the US (.com is the US site) so I don't think it's out of line for them to not recognize Russian Christmas. I go to a Russian Church and we celebrated it with the west.

I'm just saying that if we enter into a minority, we shouldn't be dismayed when we aren't noticed. I don't think it's personal or a conspiracy, personally.

I doubt those working or creators of Google knew it was some of our Eastern brethren's celebration of the Nativity/Christmas today.

Well, the family actually does look quite Russian. I'm thinking their name was really something like Addamitchakov until immigrations helped them change it to Addams.

no... i'm surprised... that's awesome. Well, I think then we can certainly cross off conspiracy from the list I think they like to vary it also every year. Like, next year, I do't think they are going to honor the creator of the Addams Family and probably not the conversion of russia. They probably look for big numbers lik 50 or 1000 years anniversaries. And then always commemorate major US Holidays of which Old Calendar Christmas... is not.

Also, it's possible they've done it in the past. I wonder if there is an archive of all of the special ones theyve done.
