Were you excommunicated at some point in your life ?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I've never been a Mormon

Have you some kind of personal agenda against mormons ? Please show me where in the bible it shows that Christ would reject ANYONE that keeps the commandments.
First off, nobody gets accepted by keepimg the commandments. We are accepted by grace. He who has the Son, has life and he who has not the Son, has not life. You cannot have the Son if you don't even know who He is

Yes, that's the command, but pointing that out misses the whole message of Salvation. Here's another command:

Matthew 5:48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 5:48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

James 2:17
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

2 Chronicles 15:7
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

Christ only does that for us which we are not able to do for ourself, We are supposed to do as much for ourselves as we are able to do.

The price was paid, but there are things we must do to receive the gift of salvation, If we did'nt need to do anything they why are we still here, why are we not all in heaven ?

Please show me where it is given regardless of your efforts. Please show me why we have to keep the commandments if it is freely given.

If someone offered to pay 1/2 of a car for you is that a gift ? The gift of salvation is offered to all who accept it. ANY gift you receive there is something you must do to have it. You must accept the gift and in many cases you OPEN it and take it out of a box i.e. it takes effort.

So you think God gives us a sort of half salvation and we have to earn the other half?

If you "believe" in God your going to "keep his commandments" the best you can.

If your keeping the commandments the best you can you qualify for the gift.

No its more like grading on a curve, You do have to put effort into it though.

No effort or reject of gift = no gift.

I'm not sure where you came up with that theology. You're welcome to it, but I reject it.

Which is exactly why your argument makes no sense to me. If you have to believe the right things to be a "Christian" (per your definition) then there are things you must do and it is not a gift.

Voting for someone who rejects the God of the Bible would be spitting in God's face.

You have a perfect right to your opinion, and I won't argue with it. Would you vote for an observant Jew? To be specific, I'm referring to someone who accepts the God of the OT, but rejects the divinity of Jesus. I'm honestly not looking for an argument. I'm interested in your views.

Wow! Are we having the whole Salvation by Works vs Salvation by Grace debate here?

This is so cool!

In another thread we re-hashed 2000 years of christology, now we're reliving the Protestant Reformation!

It's like thousands of years of study and there's still disagreements over Christianity!

How could that be????

Boring. It was more fun watching people fight and cry over spelling/grammar.

Must strongly disagree, Red! This is exceedingly interesting. Because it shows that even today, 2000 years after the "fact" we still can't quite agree on what is ostensibly the most important information in the entire universe: ETERNAL SALVATION OF THE IMMORTAL SOUL.

I am always fascinated by that. Why would God make it so that there could be any doubt about it or even a disagreement?

Such is the wonder of faith!
