Nature of Angels, Resurrection and With What Body Do They Come?

When CHRIST JESUS was raised from the Dead, was HE real and tangible or a 'gaseous incorporeal entity'?

"Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing." [John 20:27]

"And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb." [Luke 24:42]

"And he took [it], and did eat before them." [Luke 24:43]

"Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No." [John 21:5]

"As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread." [John 21:9]

The Resurrection?:

"But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept." [1 Cor 15:20]

How was Jesus Resurrected? Was Jesus raised a 'gaseous incorporeal entity'? No...

Jesus, Himself said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." [John 14:2]

Did not Jesus "ascend"? Where did He go to? A very real place:

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also." [John 14:3]

Shall we not rather believe this? What would happen if we believe that Heaven, is rather a place of non-corporeal entities, of gaseous existences, airy nonthings?

We then come to spiritualize away the very real rewards of the righteous and the coming reward of the wicked... Satan hides himself, and to make of himself non-believable, something intangible, not-real, and so deceives the whole world, even those in Christian circles, but he also causes to disappear the very real punishment of the wicked to come, and also of the very real reward for the overcomers, that "crown of Life" that Jesus will bestow upon those that love Him, have faith in and of Him and keep His commandments...

GOD created the Angels as glorious beings, and they do have bodies, as Paul would say, "Celestial bodies", for "GOD giveth it a body as it hath pleased HIM". Just as JESUS now eternally has a "Glorious Body" [Philippians 3:21] of a man.

Lucifer/[now satan] was the very "anointed cherub that coverth" [Ezekiel 28:14] and stood directly by the very Throne of GOD in Heaven [just as the imitation ones, being patterned after the heavenly ones on either side of the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant on earth] and GOD had dressed him [Lucifer] in precious stones and metals, "every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created" [Ezekiel 28:13] and Lucifer had once "walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire" in the "Eden the garden of God", upon "the holy mountain of God", being "Mount Zion" of Heaven, which "cannot be removed, [but] abideth forever".

Satan will be brought to "ashes" and "All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more." [Ezkiel 28:19] and "The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt be] any more." [Ezekiel 27:36]

Why does any of this matter?

It is because there is a great deception and distortion about the reality of Heaven, the very "Paradise" of God, Heaven, and the "reward"!

Where is the "Tree of Life"?

It is in Heaven, in the midst of the city and Paradise of God.

What is upon it?

"Fruit" and "Leaves". [Rev 22:2]

Where is the "Pure River of Water of Life"?

It is in Heaven. [Rev 22:1]

And most of all, Satan would love to destroy the Heavenly Sanctuary, of which Christ Jesus even now ministers above, even now in the Most Holy, before the Ark of His Testament...

There is even the "Temple of GOD", that "True Tabernacle which the LORD pitched and not man" [Heb 8:2] and the "ARK of HIS Testament" in Heaven. [Rev 11:19]

The Angels minister there and JESUS CHRIST, "our great High Priest"...

Heaven ["third heaven" [2 Cor 12:2]] is a real place, as real as Mt. Horeb/Sinai on earth.

Most of Christianity and the world has greatly been led into the deception of satan and have allowed it to be "spiritualized" away. The very Truth of the matter is being slowly forgotten and erased because many have and are even now allowing satan to interweave deception into theology ... and so they have allowed him to have phantomized it ... incorporealized it ... turned it into fables ... and thus stealing away the reality of the reward...

We shall eat from that Tree of Life and drink from that pure river of water of Life...

The Angels, including Satan himself, are not "incorporeal" phantoms and Satan is a very, very real and tangible being, but that means so is Heaven very real and tangible!

"For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven." [Matthew 22:30]

"For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven." [Mark 12:25]

"But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:" [Luke 20:35]

"Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection." [Luke 20:36]

"And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." [1 Cor 15:49]

"And [though] after my skin [worms] destroy this [body], yet in my flesh shall I see God:" [Job 19:26]

Look at Revelation [the revealing] of JESUS CHRIST, and HIS form:

"And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle." [Rev 1:13]

"His head and [his] hairs [were] white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes [were] as a flame of fire;" [Rev 1:14]

"And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters." [Rev 1:15]

"And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength." [Rev 1:16]

"These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;" [Rev 2:1]

"These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass;" [Rev 2:18]

And so Christians are to have bodies even as HE [except for the wounds of HIS which will remain throughout all eternity], in their resurrection:

"But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept." [1 Cor 15:20]

"But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming." [1 Cor 15:23]

Thus the "Third Heaven", is the place where GOD HIMSELF dwells among the "cherubim and seraphim", "elders" and "creatures", in the ETERNAL CITY OF GOD, "a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God." and the gates were "lifted up" at the Triumphal entry of JESUS CHRIST [the "King of GLORY"] when HE ascended "up" to that "place" which HE has gone to "prepare" for us.

JESUS CHRIST did not fade into the 'aether'. HE went to a real, place, called Heaven [3rd]. HE is coming again to take us back to that place and to that real City of Heaven, "New Jerusalem". This real city is described with all manner of Jewels, having "foundations", precious stones, pearls, waters, trees, fruits, beings, gates, etc. Real and Tangible.

The "doctrine" and even "deeds" of the "Nicolaitans", which GOD "hates" [Rev 2:6,15], discards all of that, and turns it into a lie, by spiritualizing it all away into phantoms, aether, a figment of dreams, surreal mists and separating what one does in this life with an aetheral life afterward, a shedding of the 'flesh'; a dangerous and platonic philosophy.

However, Paul says that we are not looking to be "unclothed" [2 Cor 5:4], but rather, "earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven" [2 Cor 5:2] and "so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked." [2 Cor 5:3] and "clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life." [2 Cor 5:4]

We are instead going to wear "Crown(s) of Life" which CHRIST JESUS will give to us HIMSELF, and HE HIMSELF wears many crowns. We are going to wear "white raiment" and be given "harps" and "palms", etc. We will be able to Eat and Drink from the Tree and River of Life...

The Angels are not "incorporeal" though they are normally "invisible" and are called [good] "ministering spirits" [Psalms 104:4; Hebrews 1:7,14] and [fallen/wicked] "evil spirits" [Luke 7:21, 8:2; Acts 19:12-13] and "unclean spirits" [Matthew 10:1; Mark 1:27, 3:11, 5:13, 6:7; Luke 4:36, 6:18; Acts 5:16, 8:7; Rev 16:13] of which we are said to "...wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]." [Eph 6:12;p].

Those texts are true and correct, as the Angels themsleves do not have the "flesh and blood" of men, but rather "celestial bodies" [1 Cor 15:40], that is an "heavenly" [Heb 11:16; 1 Cor 15:48-49], while we currently have "bodies terrestrial" [1 Cor 15:40], and "of the earth, earthy" [1 Cor 15:57].

"But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body." [1 Cor 15:38]

"All flesh [is] not the same flesh: but [there is] one [kind of] flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, [and] another of birds." [1 Cor 15:39]

"[There are] also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial [is] one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial [is] another." [1 Cor 15:40]

Angels have bodies like unto men, but are different "kind" of creature.

Now consider, that GOD THE FATHER HIMSELF has a Throne that HE [and CHRIST] sits upon... for the FATHER, like the SON has a "form" [Daniel 3:25], the very "form of God" [Philippians 2:6].

"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire." [Daniel 7:9]

"That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." [Matthew 10:18]

And they saw the God of Israel: and [there was] under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in [his] clearness. Exodus 24:10

"And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen." [Exodus 33:23]

Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1:3

What then of this "Spiritual Body"...

The Context of 1 Corinthians 15 reveals that it is speaking of the Resurrection and the "Body" of it.

"But some [man] will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?" [1 Cor 15:35]

"[Thou] fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:" [1 Cor 15:36]

"And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other [grain]:" [1 Cor 15:37]

"It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:" [1 Cor 15:43]

"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." [1 Cor 15:44]

And just as JESUS CHRIST was raised, we too shall be like HIM, being able to walk, eat, touch, have hair, hands and feet, etc, etc, being "as the angels in Heaven".

"So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." [1 Cor 15:54]

"present themselves before the Lord"[Job 1:6, 2:1],

being able to "Bless the LORD"[Psalms 103:20-22],

"praise"[Psalms 148:2],

and even pray and cry aloud with their mouths, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY"[Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8].

GOD created the Angels as glorious beings, and they do have bodies, as Paul would say, "Celestial bodies", for "GOD giveth it a body as it hath pleased HIM".

Just as JESUS now eternally has a "Glorious Body" [Philippians 3:21] of a man.

Lucifer/[now satan] was the very "anointed cherub that coverth" [Ezekiel 28:14] and stood directly by the very Throne of GOD in Heaven [just as the imitation ones, being patterned after the heavenly ones on either side of the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant on earth] and GOD had dressed him [Lucifer] in precious stones and metals, "every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created" [Ezekiel 28:13] and Lucifer had once "walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire" in the "Eden the garden of God", upon "the holy mountain of God", being "Mount Zion" of Heaven, which "cannot be removed, [but] abideth forever".

Satan will be brought to "ashes" and "All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more." [Ezkiel 28:19] and "The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt be] any more." [Ezekiel 27:36].

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." [Hebrews 13:2]

And this OT reference of Paul can be found in Genesis 18 and 19 with Abraham in the judgment events of "Sodom and Gomorrah" with "Lot" and the "Two Angels" and the "LORD" or "three men".

Abraham, Lot, the Three Men and Sodom and Gomorrah; "three men":

"And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw [them], he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,"[Genesis 18:2]

"And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing [them] rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;"[Genesis 19:1]

"And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city."[Genesis 19:15]

The " three men" which came down from Heaven did NOT temporarily take on 'human flesh and blood'so that they could eat, drink, have their feet washed and participate in the days activities.For, to come to that conclusion is dangerous.

The texts :

"Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:"[Genesis 18:4]

"And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said."[Genesis 18:5]

"And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead [it], and make cakes upon the hearth."[Genesis 18:6]

"And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave [it] unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it." [Genesis 18:7]

"And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set [it] before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat."[Genesis 18:8]

"And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way." [Genesis 18:16]

"And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD."[Genesis 18:22]

"And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night."[Genesis 19:2]

"And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat." [Genesis 19:3]

"But before they lay down, the men of the city, [even] the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:"[Genesis 19:4]

"And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where [are] the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them."[Genesis 19:5]

"But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door."[Genesis 19:10]

"And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city."[Genesis 19:16]

One of those "three men" that did actually "descend" from Heaven was GOD HIMSELF, the "LORD"[YHVH/YHWH; JEHOVA, etc]"יְהֹוָה"[this was none other than JESUS], since "not that any man hath seen the Father"[John 6:46;p] and it was HE [JESUS/"LORD"] that came with "two angels" [Genesis 19:1].

Even consider the very testimony and witness of Abraham [who calls himself "dust and ashes"[Genesis 18:27]], while calling this "LORD" standing before him the very "Judge of all the earth"[Genesis 18:25] and in Genesis 19:24, there is the "LORD" standing on the earth calling down "brimstone and fire from the LORD out of Heaven"]:

"And the LORD appeared ..." [Genesis 18:1;p]

"And the LORD ..."[Genesis 18:13;p]

"Is any thing too hard for the LORD? ..." [Genesis 18:14;p]

"And the LORD ..."[Genesis 18:17;p]

"And the LORD ..."[Genesis 18:20;p]

"... Abraham stood yet before the LORD."[Genesis 18:22;p]

"...the Judge of all the earth do right?" [Genesis 18:25;p]

"And the LORD ..." [Genesis 18:26;p]

"And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place."[Genesis 18:33]

"For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it." [Genesis 19:13]

"And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:"[Genesis 19:27]

This is no surprise for GOD [the SON], JESUS, "descended" to earth many times, but never in 'human flesh and blood'until his incarnation/birth, where HE was:

"GOD manifest in the flesh" [1 Timothy 3:16], "the LORD from Heaven"[1 Corinthians 15:47], "HE who comes from above is above all...HE who comes from Heaven is above all"[John 3:31], "made of a woman"[Galatians 4:4], "made of the seed of David according to the flesh"[Romans 1:3] of the "seed of Abraham"[Hebrews 2:16], even "as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same"[Hebrews 2:14] and "in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren"[Hebrews 2:17] and scripture giving us the family line and genealogy of that very flesh [sarx] and blood nature HE took upon HIMSELF [Matthew 1:1-25; Luke 3:23-38] the "[the son] of Adam"[Luke 3:38] as it is said, "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men"[Philippians 2:7], "was in all points tempted like as [we are yet] without sin"[Hebrews 4:15], "holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners"[Hebrews 7:26] that "holy thing" [Luke 1:35] and "holy child"[Acts 4:27,30] born of the "Holy Ghost"[Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35].

Additionally [as seen in the NT]:

"And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;"[Acts 1:10]

The "man Gabriel"[Daniel 9:21] is an "angel"[Luke 1:19,26].

Some have said that "Gabriel" was only witnessed in a vision, and that therefore is not speaking about anything of reality.

In Daniel 9:20-21 we see that Daniel was in prayer and not in vision, "And whiles I [was] speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;"[Daniel 9:20]

"Yea, whiles I [was] speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation."[Daniel 9:21]

Some will say, "Well, when Gabriel touched Daniel with his 'hand' it was not like unto our hands, but a power or force that lifted him up, an 'energy', etc"

Let us then consider the "hand"[Daniel 10:10]. יָד yad, meaning: "1) hand; a) hand (of man), etc..."[Strong's Concordance] and is translated "hand" 1359 times as such in scripture.

Let us consider further texts which addresses similar issues, Luke 24:4,23, Acts 10:3,30:

"And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:"[Luke 24:4]

"And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive."[Luke 24:23]

"He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius."[Acts 10:3]

"And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,"[Acts 10:30]

How does that affect "possession"? Well that too has been greatly distorted by the media, film, story, RCC teaching, etc.

Possession is not what many think it is... it is a surrender of the will to one or the other...

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:13

The chariots of God [are] twenty thousand, [even] thousands of angels: the Lord [is] among them, [as in] Sinai, in the holy [place]. Psalms 68:17

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain [was] full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17

12, 13. Right Counsel Versus Evil Counsel—[Daniel 10:12, 13 quoted.] By this we see that heavenly agencies have to contend with hindrances before the purpose of God is fulfilled in its time. The king of Persia was controlled by the highest of all evil angels. He refused, as did Pharaoh, to obey the word of the Lord. Gabriel declared, He withstood me twenty-one days by his representations against the Jews. But Michael came to his help, and then he remained with the kings of Persia, holding the powers in check, giving right counsel against evil counsel. Good and evil angels are taking a part in the planning of God in His earthly kingdom. It is God’s purpose to carry forward His work in correct lines, in ways that will advance His glory. But Satan is ever trying to counterwork God’s purpose. Only by humbling themselves before God can God’s servants advance His work. Never are they to depend on their own efforts or on outward display for success (Letter 201, 1899).


13. An Invisible Struggle—We have before us in the Word of God instances of heavenly agencies working on the minds of kings and rulers, while at the same time satanic agencies were also at work on their minds. No human eloquence, in strongly set forth human opinions, can change the working of satanic agencies. Satan seeks continually to block the way, so that the truth shall be bound about by human devising; and those who have light and knowledge are in the greatest danger unless they constantly consecrate themselves to God, humiliating self, and realizing the peril of the times.


Heavenly beings are appointed to answer the prayers of those who are working unselfishly for the interests of the cause of God. The very highest angels in the heavenly courts are appointed to work out the prayers which ascend to God for the advancement of the cause of God. Each angel has his particular post of duty, which he is not permitted to leave for any other place. If he should leave, the powers of darkness would gain an advantage....


Day by day the conflict between good and evil is going on. Why is it that those who have had many opportunities and advantages do not realize the intensity of this work? They should be intelligent in regard to this. God is the Ruler. By His supreme power He holds in check and controls earthly potentates. Through His agencies He does the work which was ordained before the foundation of the world.


As a people we do not understand as we should the great conflict going on between invisible agencies, the controversy between loyal and disloyal angels. Evil angels are constantly at work, planning their line of attack, controlling as commanders, kings, and rulers, the disloyal human forces.... I call upon the ministers of Christ to press home upon the understanding of all who come within the reach of their voice, the truth of the ministration of angels. Do not indulge in fanciful speculations. The written Word is our only safety. We must pray as did Daniel, that we may be guarded by heavenly intelligences. As ministering spirits angels are sent forth to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation. Pray, my brethren, pray as you have never prayed before. We are not prepared for the Lord’s coming.
