Hey guys.. I am hopping you guys can pray with me..

I am being called to the missions field, and it isn't a matter of should I, but a matter of when. :)

God has placed Tanzania on my heart, and I need all the prayer I can get to decide when to go and where...

I do know that it is going to be a very un-civilized area I think.. God has prepared me for as much. I also feel that there are some villages there that have never heard the gospel.. and I think that is where I am headed..

Also, keep in prayer.. Tanzania is a very anti-christian country.. pre-dominately Islamic. From what I know, they beat regulary, many Christians who go there, and kill many as well.

So, sounds like fun! :) heh

Thanks all,

Robert

Being called to the mission field now a days is pretty much the same as God telling you that your going on a big camping trip. Be sure to take you netting to keep the bugs off of you at night.

The first time I went, I really had not allowed God to prepare me spiritually. We really need to spend a lot of time with just us and God so we are prepared and know what to tell people when we get there.

>>Tanzania is a very anti-christian country..

Forgive me for being frank, but if you are 100% right with God, you have nothing to worry about. If your not, then you are toast. But you will get a nice reward :) When we go into a situation like that, we really need to be lead by God, and if we allow Him to lead us every step of the way, He will keep us safe.

We know of missionarys who went to India and preached against their religion, & they excaped with their life, but it was close. My pastor went in there and preched Jesus Christ and Christ Crucified and did not say a word against their religion, and it was a gloryous time with many salvations.

When our church goes to Africa, which is once a year, the associate pastor goes into the prisions and some of the most dangerous places to go in Africa. But they are prayed up and being lead by God every step of the way. So they have not had any problems at all. Other than they do not like the food, so they have to fast a lot. But the pastor warns them to BE SURE they are 100% right with God, or don't go.

I never had any problems with the food on the mission field, because I can just go to the open market and prepare it myself, even over a open fire if I have to. God always provides for me, no problem. Thanks, JohnR7

First let me say that I admire you for your calling. I know you will probably be eating foods we would not dream of eating hear and, by American standards, living a rugged life.
I also, am aware that dealing with the Islamic authorities is probably not going to be pleasant either. But it is a high calling God has set before you.
There is much here to be prayed about. How long are you going for? Are you representing any particular church? When do you want to go?
I am adding you to my prayer list.
God bless you

Dear Lord,

I lift up your willing servant Robert, and ask that You bless and protect, provide all the provisions he needs, and prepare both his heart and Tanzania for his sharing of JESUS!

Thank you Lord, and may Your will be done now and forever!

:) Nancy

*cheering* WOOHOO!! You're not the only one! Only very recently God has been moving around things in my heart and I suddenly have a burning desire to devote myself after college to be a full-time missionary...it's an awesome thing to go from "PLEASE, God, DON'T make me go!! PLEASE!!" to "ENVOYEZ-MOI, MON DIEU PERE!" (Send me, my Father God!)

Your bravery is encouraging...I want most to go to Africa, where there is not much that I know of on the lines of severe persecution...And I will pray for you! It's awesome to want to take the Truth to people who might not ever hear it otherwise! There are so few who would go in comparison to those who wouldn't...Send me, Father God! Let YOUR will be done!
