Deuteronomy signifies a second law, because it repeats the ordinances formerly given on mount Sinai, and with other precepts not expressed before. The book does not entirely agree with the first four books either. It is believed by some scholars that it may have been written by a king of Israel. It is also thought that it may have come from 3rd century BC Hellenistic Jews.
