OK, lets make this official here. Palin is not nor has she been a candidate for the nomination for President for 2012. She even stated publicly just a few days ago she was not going to run.

But go ahead and stay fixated on her, if you want.

I will say she would make a much more effective President than the current occupant of that office. But, she isn't running.

Yeah I know she isn't running, but she's the most likely to candidate lose if she did.

Also I would like to personally thank you for tossing away your vote on a non-viable candidate. Romney is the most likely to win in my estimation, so don't go doing him any favors on his presidency bid.

Please note, Daisey, this is one of the DNC talking points. Just turn on CNN or MSNBC or ABC News or CBS News or Keith Olberman or pick up any leftist rag like the NYT and you will hear and see this denunciation of Cain repeated again and again and again until a new talking point is issued.

All of this talk of Romney "probably" beating Obama and how some will "probably" vote for Romney and how Conservatives "must" appeal to those without an opinion is disinformation. Liberals will voice support for Romney because that is who they want to be the Republican nominee. Liberals want Romney to be the nominee because they are sure he will lose to Obama.

Yup, no one here is sharing their honest opinion Gawron. It's just a vast conspiracy to try to get you to vote for the moderate candidate. ^_^

I don't watch TV news, but I do read the NYT - but not only have I not come across that phrase, the NYT is not the DNC.

All of this talk of Romney "probably" beating Obama and how some will "probably" vote for Romney and how Conservatives "must" appeal to those without an opinion is disinformation. Liberals will voice support for Romney because that is who they want to be the Republican nominee.
Look at the demographics - how many people are consider themselves Conservative and how many don't. There are fewer registered Republicans and Conservatives than Democrats, Liberals and moderate Independents put together. You can purge only so many registration rolls.

Liberals want Romney to be the nominee because they are sure he will lose to Obama.
Speaking as a Liberal, I can say that isn't true. If the economy tanks any further or if jobs don't recover substantially by October, the Republican candidate is likely to win. We Liberals prefer Romney over the others except maybe Huntsman.

No kidding. I was arguing that people who vote in the GOP primaries are going to elect Romney. I'm not arguing for or against Romney as a candidate, nor do I vote in these primaries.

That the Reps have shown huge support for for a number of different candidate during this cycle is hardly a talking point. First it was Bachmann and all talking heads said that she was going to get the nomination. Then Perry entered the race and suddenly he was going to win the nomination. Then Perry starting showing that he's an empty suit and now everyone is behind Cain and he is already waning. Republicans have been very fickle this election cycle.

Calling Cain "the flavor of the week" isn't a denunciation of him... It's a denunciation of the right and one that it is 100% accurate.
Liberals want Romney to be the nominee because they are sure he will lose to Obama.
Speaking from the center-left I really do think that Romney could win. As could Huntsman. The rest of the pack are too busy preaching to the choir to attract anyone new.

If I wanted nostalgia, I'd vote for Ross Perot.

(And besides, wouldn't you like to see Dana Carvey's career revived?)

Lol, what about Ralph Nader. Isn't he mandated by law or something to be on every ballot.

My prediction is that Obama will be re-elected. Why? Not because Obama is strong, but because the entire GOP line up, including Mitt Romney, is incredibly weak.

.

For sure.

Here's a prediction you can count on. You'll be hearing the phrase "Hold your nose and vote for..." a lot this election cycle.

The GOP doesn't need the " base fired up " . Obama is a one term president , anyone with 1/2 a brain can see that .

I saw recently that in a poll a monkey that can do sign language was ahead of Obama by 13 points ...

Odd, because that's most of what they've been doing so far.

I know you're trying to be clever, but I don't think any monkey has ever been taught sign language.

And another DNC talking point on display.

I am not sure if you are trying insult or discredit what I said, but it is nonetheless a true statement. If we were simply looking to secure another term for our candidate, we would surely be rooting for the more extreme candidates in your party, such as those I mentioned. Instead, we tend to support Romney, because many of us believe that if a Republican were elected as the next POTUS, Romney would be a much better one than any of his opponents. And, it so happens that because his is not seen as being as conservative as other GOP candidates, he is more likely to be electable in a general election. You can call that a "DNC talking point" all you want, but that doesn't make it any less true.

No news articles. Just my prediction. The GOP elite won't have it any other way. The flavor of the week (currently Cain) will fade just like Bachman, Perry, and Palin (If you can count Palin) did. The GOP elite want the base fired up, but in the end, they want a mainstream candidate.

I am posting this here so when the GOP finally nominate there candidate, I can come back here and say "Grizz called it in October", or to say "Hey look, I was wrong".

Feel free to post your predictions here too.

I don't see Romney getting the bid, he is a member of the largest cult in the world.

I think you've hit on the one thing that could possibly derail a Romney nomination. I'm having a hard time gauging how many GOP primary voters believe as you do.

The candidate the media is constantly playing down is Ron Paul.

I can't see Mitt Romney winning because I can't see a strong majority of evangelical Christians voting for someone they do not believe is a Christian. I suspect roughly half can overlook his Mormonism, however the other half will not.

Then again I can't see most liberals voting for a Democratic candidate who has basically carried on with Bush policies and pushed a corporate solution to the health care crisis... unless the Republican candidate is someone really scary like Rick Perry or Michelle Bachman.

If you want to see the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq brought to an end, GTMO closed, no new wars and oppose the President simply assassinating people he deems to be a threat to US intrests... Ron Paul is your candidate. If the election were today and the choice was Paul or Obama, I'd vote for Ron Paul. I can't see that happening since the corperate intrests that normally get Republicans elected would probably prefer a moderate conservative like Obama to a Libertarian like Paul.

I believe the Republican candidate will be Perry, and that he is sufficiently conservative enough to get us liberals to break out our checkbooks again and fight to get Obama re-elected. Perry if elected would for the most part continine the Bush/Obama policies while throwing bones to religious conservatives by fighting against abortion and equal rights for gays.

I can't see Cain getting the nomination. I believe he might be able to hold onto the lead for a bit, however he will not be able to handle the spotlight and his campaign will implode.

I am voting for Cain - at least we won't have to listen to 4 years of being called a raciest just because we disagree on policies.
