Is anyone else sick of dogs ? you know when you go on vacation you have to board them, when you come home from a nice night or dinner, you have these needy, begging, pacing, whining dogs you have to deal with ? Vet bills, fleas, (yes I use advantage, another cost), house smelling like a dog, (yes I bathe the dogs with a good shampoo, more cost & stress) dog snot/slobber on walls & furniture. I told my wife, my goal is to have 1 little fuzzy dog.
Do any of you feel like this ?

LOL You may be suffering from pet overload. I have 1 cat and 1 new kitten right now and I am living at home until Sept and then I move.....I can sympathize with you somewhat. My new kitten just cost me 70 bucks,my other cat just had to be seen for stomach problems(hairballs!) and I have been up with both every night. I have to kennel them next week when I go on a trip because my parents are not home alot this summer. sigh....it is going to cost me another $100 to do that....

Everything you mentioned is all part of owning a family dog and loving said dog to bits. Dogs take on all kinds of irritating habits, but then, it's the not-so-fun part of living with animals that we have to tolerate. In my house it's live and let live... and all the rest, like scratching, rolling, chasing cats down our garden and howling at the moon. With dogs you either have to go with them, or go insane.

Dog training classes are extremely useful in the long term. Gets yours in there pronto to learn not to mark their territory on, for example, electrical sockets. Ours might have put the national grid out had it got the opportunity to spray there. We used pheromones to stop that nonsense.

Whining at the dining table can be discouraged using a rolled up newpaper; dogs learn by association. Are you going to show it you're in charge? I have mine. In his eyes I am Alpha Female: Gaby Rules OK. If mine doesn't obey, it's KO.

What does your Missus say?

I adore my doggy. I also have two cats but the dog drops white hairs everywhere. I have to catch them with a dusting broom on the ceramic floor and vacuum the carpet. However when she wags her tail and is always happy to see me it all goes away.

The problem is that you chose the wrong species! Cats are more independent, intelligent, physically resilient, and low-cost than dogs. Plus they're just more graceful and better at survival. And contrary to popular belief, they have just as much love to give as a dog, perhaps more - because, not unlike human relationships, trust and love must be built honestly, and therefore it is more genuine. Now don't get me wrong, I adore dogs. But I just think that cats make better pets, unless one lives in the country or hunts. Keeping big dogs in the house is inhumane, I think. And they are too big and cumbersome for that. My cats are actually inside/outside cats, and they actually come when I call them, just like a dog would!

I'll admit that I am not a total dog person but I took the responsibly of one on and I am going to show him love and take the best of care of him. He is totally dependent on me so nothing less should be expected....even when he pukes all over my wood floor. lol He got overheated from playing with the kids this summer and fainted and wouldn't get up. We thought for sure he was gone but we sprayed him down with water and put his muddy lifeless body in our clean car to take him to the pet er doing so with tears. He ended up being fine but it made me realize how much this brat means to me. :)

What about cats? I was out walking in my neighborhood and that cat just wanted attention!

I'm not a great dog lover. To make matters worse, I have never understood why films with dogs and cats (more often than not), indicate that they are intelligent, free thinking, and problem solvers... Then again, they probably are intelligent.
Were can you get a roof over your head, free meals without doing anything for it?

Awe, how can you not love that face?

Hey, Baby's drool, poop their pants, spit up on you and are twice as needy.

There's no place on earth where you can get such unconditional love than from a dog.

Is he a boxer mix? I can so relate to that cute underbite, I have a bulldogge. I think the love and attention and comic relief they provide is priceless.

I have two rescues and one of them is now a Therapy dog and is bringing happiness to many, distressing them like no drug can, and bringing smiles like no other.

It is costly, but one with dividends worth much more!

Have fun with your slobber boy, he looks like a real love.
