I just wanted to say that God is, and he still gives revelation today.

And The Lord isn't just up there in Heaven waiting to come again. He speaks with Prophets and Apostles like he did with The Church of Jesus Christ in days past.

Just thought you would like to here the good news or to be reminded of it.

The difficulty is with anti-Christs who claim revelation from God, but are false prophets. The ultimate test of any revelation is that of an objective revelation, which, for Christians, is the Bible. If any revelation contradicts the Bible, it is to be rejected, along with the so-called prophet who proclaims that revelation.

Scripture is complete. Hebrews 4:12.

The problem I noted in my previous post is what happens when other "revelation" is contradictory to previous "revelation". If, for example, it has been revealed that the sun rises in the east every morning and some chap comes on the scene and says that God has revealed to him that the sun actually rises in the west every morning, who do we believe?

Zech 2:13 is a rather fascinating verse in the OT/OC of the Bible, and coincidentally the word "silence" in that verse is used in Reve 8:1 when the 7th seal is opened....pretty kewl!

Zechariah 2:13 Silence! all flesh from faces of YHVH, that He is roused from habitation of holiness of Him.

The Bible teaches us about eternal life and the Holy Spirit is actively revealing all truth to Jesus' sheep. So what "revelations" from the LDS church do people need?

10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Too numerous for a part-time poster like myself to go into but the major one in that. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints" is just that Christ's church restored on the earth.

Also neither the Bible nor the official canon of "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints" should be considered all of God's words to man.

But God told me that it is not His church. Should we trust God or man?

Do the prophets give us eternal life or does Christ? Did the prophets point us to Christ? Do we need more than Christ?

If someone is following God/Christ, why should he convert to Mormonism?

"The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints" is Christ's church which He restored for these last days. To follow Christ is to follow His church.

Why should people take your word for that? The Bereans searched the scriptures daily to see if Paul's message was from God. God says the Bereans were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica. Would God want us to be of noble character?

1. Does the Bible tell us how to have eternal life?

2. What other "revelations" do people need?

Why are you avoiding these two questions?

I searched the scriptures and found that certain LDS teachings contradict the clearest teachings of the Bible:

Marion Romney (LDS First Presidency) said, "This Church is the ensign on the mountain spoken of by the Old Testament prophets. It is the way, the truth, and the life" (Conference Report, April, 1961, p. 119).

Keep Faith with the Church
This Church is the way of truth and life and salvation.

By their fruits (or works) is one way said the Savior.

Matthew 7:15 ¶Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Think if what's come to pass by certain "prophets" have been good or bad for the world.

I think you're splitting hairs. Christ established His church and His servants on it to be His representatives. Following the Church and it's leaders IS following Christ.

The Bible is not the full source of information on how to have eternal life for me. So that's neither yes nor a no.

Not sure if I call eternal life a revelation but a purpose that God's revelations lead us to.

I didn't answer the questions before because they were very difficult to answer. sorry.

Hmmmm.

Joseph Smith Jr. - illegal polygamy ring, statutory rape of minors, and calling on God to bring "curses" to those who prosecuted him

Brigham Young - more illegal polygamy, prophetic statements that are now denied by the LDS

It seems to me that Mr. Monson is not as nearly as close to following in the footsteps of your founders and Mr. Jeffs has been.
