Increasing Faith

I was recently drawing up a set of physical, mental and spiritual requirements that I feel I will need to fulfill my military career (SF-type). One of the things I decided upon was more faith- a lot more faith, in God. How can I achieve this?

Thanks be to God.

well, the way to recieve more grace in my opinion is to recieve more grace - this means humbling yourself before GOd more and more - the bible says in several places that the more humble we get the more grace we recieve (Proverbs 3:34) - being humble with God has to do with getting more and more honest with him and then laying down before him as he changes you and conforms you to His will.

very good decision. i can´t say i have personal experience with the military, but it´s as great a place as any to have God an active participant in your life!
Your faith will grow, or i should say, my faith has grown in direct proportion to the relationship that i have and maintain with Christ Jesus. You will find great faith in the bible, from the centurion, to Paul, to Abraham, the father of our faith... but don´t discount Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our Faith!

i wish i were at home right now, i have some wonderful notes i came accross regarding faith... but really, if you have your bible, you have all the notes and more that i might be able to give you. The bible is quite explicit in that you have not because you ask not, or you ask amis... to those who lack wisdom and understanding let them ask... ask and it will be given unto you that the father may be glorified in the son...
these scripts all relate to tangible items sure, but they all relate to your growing realionship with the Lord, which will give you the increase in faith that you want. i picture faith as a muscle, if you don´t use it, it sucks

but if you are diligent to train and follow Gods leading, when the time is right you WILL have faith, you won´t be scrambling to get faith. Again, congrats on your recognition that you want MORE faith.
In training for my faith to increase i began asking God for items or issues that others might consider insignificant, (God where are my keys, i ask you father to show me where my bike keys are in Jesus name

) but with every success, with every answer to prayer you learn to rely wholey on God ( i ain´t there yet

, faith is an ongoing thing for me )

Heb 11:1
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
(KJV)

Now faith is a little different than just ackowleging some one or some thing. Faith and hope are joinded to gether and throw a little trust in there also.
James 2:19
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
(KJV)

Se how the devils know of God but do not have there trust and hope in God.

Faith must have an object and that object is God. We must trust God, hope in God and have faith in God. Now that was a Biblical definition, but your question was how do I get more of it.
Mark 9:24
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
(KJV)

Just ask for it. God will train you up and exercise your faith making it grow.

faith cometh by hearing, and hearing from the word of God.

you get more faith in god as you know his promises better. as you know him better, you trust him more. read the word, till it becomes a part of you. saturate yourself in it. get in it untill it gets in you, untill it becomes your second nature, you do what youve trained yourself to do. retrain yourself to act and think by the word, this may seem costly, and it will take long hours, days, weeks, months, and years, but the end therof IS POWERFUL! YOU CANT IMAGINE IT!
faith comes by reading the word. to be christians of power(as we all should be) we must be christians of faith, and that will only come when we are christians of the word!
but we dont know this word well enough.

and pray and fast over it.
talk to god about, thank god for it, ask for revelation on it.
pray about it, god gave us the key to knowing the word of god, it is the holyspirit, he reminds us of what jesus says, and teaches us about jesus. he reminds us of the word, and teaches us the word. we need a strong relationship with him in prayer.

do this during your fasting.
as you fast a meal or something your denying your flesh, and give that time to god in prayer or reading, your replacing that flesh with God.
and this allows you to hear him better or become closer to him.

Faith is believing what is there but you can't see it yet.

You believe that Lord Jesus the Christ died for your sins and was risen on the thrid day, you believe he walked on water and all the other Holy things He did, so why have little faith what he can do for you with you and throught you ?

You have faith to you will move you arm or leg, that is the Faith you should have do with things from the Holy Scriputre.

If you believe in something you have faith in that something too, so why lower and limited the faith ?

But you have to remember that your faith can only do so much but the Faith from the above will be as it is.

The Holy Scripture is saying to have faith of a mustard seed.

I say that when you accept Lord Jesus the Christ and get the Holy Spirit into you which your body is the temple you already have faith so why limit the faith ?
