One thing I noted with many atheists in the goround of Gods existance, is that the atheists seem to debate from the point that God exists, but degrading him to something else. For instance notice that famous Dawking. In one dispute he said that because God wants us to love him he is therefore our child! Another good example is the theodice problem. Most atheists seem to work from that point that God exist, but he is not all-loving, omnipotent, etc. etc. - but he is evil!

It's alittle like argueing about superman, You do not need to believe he exists in order to point out wearing his underwear over his pantyhose was a rediculous thing to do.

No, but if you try to use his lack of underwear coordination as proof that he doesn't exist ...

True, but the idea would be to proof that his fasion sense and possibibly his sexuality were rather suspect.
It would be an argument against the existance of a underwearcoordinated/straight superman. (don't take this serious;))

Kind of like how people will say god is evil (as they understand his character/actions) but I don't think anyone has ever said 'God is evil, there for god does not exist' Unless they were specifically talking about an omnibenevolent god.

Logically it doesn't make sense (if evil meant non-existance then I guess Hitler didn't exist) but I've lost track of the number of atheists and anti-theists I've heard saying if God was proven to exist they still wouldn't believe in him.

No im saying I NEVER heard of anybody saying "God is evil, there for there is no god"

Just that the biblical god is evil, in the same way that superman is uncoordinated.
Its not arguements against their existence just comments on their characters.

I think you mean "Worship" here instead of believe.
I never spoken to a single atheist that would not believe if proven to exist.

If God did exist, and was specifically the Christian deity and was exactly as described in the bible... I would still not be a Christian. I would however believe in God, the same way I believe in france.

I may know that France exists, but that doesn't make me a citizen of France and thus I shouldn't be expected to abide by french laws.

BTW, if God really did exist I think It would either be a Lovecraftian abomination or schizopherenic.

Well, i don't think the example in the OP was an attempt to disprove God. It was exposing how ridiculous it is...
