suicide

I am a christian and I am very sick now so I don't care too suffer for ever. I found a spot in the bible that says that suicide is not an unforgivable sin. It said that it is just highly frowned upon. Therefore, I believe that I would still go to heaven but wouldn't I be punished in some way. That is what I was wondering.

Do you really want to find out the hard way? Hang in there my friend. You will not regret it.

"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 'Make level paths for your feet,' so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."  (Hebrews 12)

Beloved mc, Hello! I send my prayers to you in your time of suffering! Suffering can be redemptive so please hope and hold on! Trust that God will bring you many blessings in support of your suffering, have faith.

Suicide is such a bad thing because all life is precious, even yours and your body is a temple for God and because if you take your own life, it means you have lost hope and hope is one of the gifts of the Spirit. Don't lose hope, God has a purpose for everything!!!

Peace, Love, and Hope to you!

This is something which is also heavy on my heart. I would be interested to see what this verse is also, I truly believe that if you do make it to heaven then you will NOT be punished there, heaven is not a place of punishment it is a place of peace.

your sister in Christ

M.C. Does anybody love you? If so, you will hurt them beyond words. You see, my friend, we are all inter-connected, and each strand of the web is closely aligned with each other strand. We just lost our youngest son six months ago. My heart breaks for you! Reach your little hand into His, my friend, and allow Him to lead you into the purpose for which He has made you....the despair that grips you can be the road by which His fulness is realized. "These are they who made their way through great distress..."

"For I have assurance that there is nothing in death or life, in the realm of superhuman powers, in the world as it is or the world as it shall be, in the forces of the universe. Neither the height above us nor the depth beneath us, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which comes to us in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8

Hi MC I too am praying for you. Suicide is not of God. I believe its a spirit. I think someone that does this not knowing its write or wrong is a different story. As for you God heard your heart and just look where your at. I don't care what the problem is Jesus can fixit, heal it what ever. Yes he did hear you!

Hello mc- wow, I'm sorry you're feeling bad enough to ask the question.  I believe that once we are saved (Romans 10:9, John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 1John 1:9) that our salvation isn't erased by future sin (but sin still needs to be confessed), but that suicide is like telling God, 'hey, I'm not convinced You're really in charge here, so if Ya don't mind, I think I'll just take care of this by myself....if Your timing fit mine, well then, I'd be ok with that.."  Suffering isn't always understandable, or explainable, but it's always something God can handle.

My prayers are with you MC! I recently lost a friend to suicide and a retired pastor friend to suicide. Do I believe they are in Heaven? Yes I do! Why? Because Christ died ONCE FOR ALL, and the only sin God will not forgive is blasphemy of His Spirit. Is suicide the answer? NO! God has hope for the hopeless and love for the loveless. He can conquer your greif and your pain. Both of my friends had a type of cancer and were in agony every moment. They gave up. They were lost in their moments of pain and took their life. To take one's own life is to take back from God what you have already given Him. My advice is to pray about where God would have you go and what He would have you do. There is NO situation too big for Him, and HE is just waiting for you to hand the keys back over to Him so He can let you rest while He drives. I have been at hopeless points in my life and while my problems were big to me, they were so small in comparison to the cost the my Savior paid on Calvary.

I leave you with a verse from Philippians 4:6-7:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supllication , with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In other words...trust God to be faithful to the promises in which He made to you. He never promised us we wouldn't suffer, but He did promise us a home in Heaven once we perservered through the life on earth. Pray to Him and earnestly present your request to Him, and if it is His will then He will answer you. Hang in there! God loves you and He knows best for you.

There is no verse in the Bible about suicide being acceptable, or frowned upon for that matter, but all sin is forgiven once you become a Christian...a "TRUE CHRISTIAN".
