Christiansmingle and other Dating Sites?!

I'm guessing you mean ChristianMingle (is christiansmingle an actual site?). In my opinion, there's no point in using a paid site when there are so many free sites out there (Plentyoffish, Christiandatingforfree, OKcupid). And I haven't found more or less success with paid sites than free ones, or vice versa. There may be fewer spammers and psychos on paid sites, but that doesn't mean there'll be more compatible matches.

Use of a paid site is a real gamble, you could probably find better ways to use that money since funds are short.

I've heard people say that sites where you pay offer higher quality people, but since there are crazies everywhere there's really no good method to weed them out. Why not give it a shot and see if you like it? There are people who have success and failure on those sites, but whatever God intends He'll find a way to make happen.

These are just personal experiences, but I've never had a good one with online dating sites. I just always came away with the impression that it was more like online shopping than it was like meeting people in the real world. I'm sure I've been shot down, or dumped, because I don't make a lot of money. But at least there's social fiction in the real world. When you've got a list of requirements up there saying you're only going to talk to someone that's white, has a master's degree, and makes $100k a year, well to me that's very crass.

if u could live with a few free days every couple of months. ChristianCafe is a decent site. Once you sign up, you get 7 day + 3 more if u upload a picture(u dont have to do it at that moment, could upload a month later and still get the 3 days) Then every couple of months, you get 3-5 free days to promote their specials, ie. Valentine Day, Christmas, Summer Special etc...

once your free time is up, you can not check out your profile unless you pay or recieve another free special. Kinda sucks if you were talkign with someone, but its best to give the person your email/AIM name before the time is up

there's no guarantee with any dating site. Its merely a medium to meet people. Nothing more, nothing less. Personally I've done the pay sites and the free sites and I've found the same level of success with both. Actually to be honest, I've had more contact with guys on free sites than on pay sites.

I did have one guy contact me when I was on Christian Mingle (as a nonpaying member). He skirted the rules to give me his contact info and we talked for about a month off the site. He basically turned out to be a manipulative control freak who told me he didn't believe I was a real Christian only after I told him I didn't want things to go further than friendship, but that he was willing to mentor me into a proper relationship with Christ and then we could start dating. He was the paying member of that site - so you get psychos everywhere. Money doesn't exactly weed them out

one site I really like, and I met a guy there who is now a really great friend, is Christian Cafe. It is a pay site, but they offer so many free trials through the year that you don't need to pay.

and Christian Singles, Christian Dating Service for Christian Singles Seeking Personals and Chat Online for Free. is also a good site to meet people, though their pool of people was on the small side when I posted there.

I use ChristianMingle.com and Match.com, I used my 3 month sub on both and was pleased with both.
