Since there is such a wide and distinct difference with what people come up with, meaning the end result, when interpreting the Scriptures, and theology itself.  I would like to ask all the members here why they believe their theology is true, and what makes it true to them?  I'm not asking about the outcome of your interpretation but the process, the procedure and the road which is taken to get there.

Theology defined as:  inquiry into the nature of God; and absolute Truth.

I will give an answer soon.  It's not an answer I came up with myself, but one I strongly agree with and believe in.  But first I would like to give a chance for other members to post their opinions.

All opinions are welcome.  In this way we can all learn from each other.

Thank you and God Bless.

Love

Dear jack,

Christian doctrine is based on a assemblance and implication of scripture.

On any given tenet, we, since "ALL scripture is good for . . .," search the written Word and combine all passages pertaining to the topic. We then construe from what we believe is implied, that which is stated as doctrine. This is one "witness" (maybe - see later below).

But, since "in the mouth of two or three witnesses . . .."

Placed within the born-again Christian is a new spirit from God. If we have "His Spirit bearing witness with our spirit" that what we believe was implied IS actually Truth, then we have a second witness.

In the case where the doctrine would result in a supernatural manifestation, such as being born-again, receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, operating in a fully ripened fruit of the Spirit, being used to bring forth a gift of the Spirit, etc., then we also have a third witness.

Also, if in the first place the doctrine was arrived at NOT through our own study and skulduggery and assembly by the flesh, but told to us directly by the Spirit, then this too is yet another witness. The problem here, however, is very few have their "senses trained through reason of use, whereby we know good from evil" well enough so as to know the voice of the Holy Ghost in comparison to the others. "For there are MANY voices, and none are without signifigance." But in this case, if genuine, we THEN AFTERWARD can also search the scriptures to confirm such word was true, again, as another witness.

It is when we learn of a doctrine through mere intellect, and without witness of the Holy Ghost have assembled it onto ourselves as part of our personally believed upon dogma, whereby trouble and confusion arises. For it often if not always then becomes an idol of the heart. Such have made the WRITTEN Word their lord/heart idol instead of the LIVING Word, Jesus, the SPIRIT of God, being their Lord.

While all of this does not satisfy the lusts of the fleshly mind, according to the general teaching of the principle stated in John 2:23-25, it's all we get.

Back somewhere is a thread I started and posted here, entitled "Why We Believe What We Do." It goes into greater detail.

Many blessings and His Love to you too, jack, bro. jim

Dear brotherjim,

Beautiful answer!  True to the Holy Spirit of Truth.

Here goes my attempt to answer what true Theology is?

As I have mentioned in my original post, this definition of "true" theology, I have not come up with myself.  But, through the Grace of God, The Word, and the Providential Peace and Love messages of "True Life in God", which is a reminder of His Word through the Holy Spirit of Truth, revealing nothing new, and adding nothing new to Scriptures. So, I came to believe the following to be the "only" true theology:

True theology can be undertaken only through Divine Revelation, so the one true and pure theology is the contemplation of God in His Triune Glory and in His Divine Mystery.  In truth, contemplating the light of His Glory is above all theology.

And to be honest with you I'm not even sure I...well, actually I am sure that by my own power, reason, intelligence, I will never be able to understand the Heart of God, but only by the Grace of God will I ever get a glimpse of His Truths.  It says in the Scriptures:

Isaiah 54:13
All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the prosperity of your children.

1 Corinthians 2:13
And we speak of these things in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to those who are spiritual.

But after reading the TLiG messages I can humbly say that I am able to understand the Scriptures more in a spiritual way.  Here is a passage taken from the TLiG messages that touches on the subject of true theology:

True Life in God, February 12, 2000:
"the only theology, and I would strongly add, the only true theology is the contemplation of Me, your God, and a foretaste of the Beatific Vision; this is the true and holy theology; it is not the learned theologian who shifts his papers with his theology that turns him into a prophet to prophesy, but those I, Myself, anointed with the unction of My Love, embedding them well within My Heart to reach the interiour Divine and extraordinary inspirations that lie in My Heart, to be pronounced like fire to My people;

ah, Vassula, and how many times I heard from the earth a trickling of amused laughter and arrogance, accompanied by complete resentment and deafness as well, when you correct them in My Name! yes, the sinners wave reproof aside, finding all sorts of excuses to do what they want;

I manifest, in a most ineffable manner, Myself to My prophets, yes, while they are still here on earth and they are aware of this grace; I array them with Myself, I array their nakedness, adorning them with Myself and they know it; they are conscious of My Divine Presence during contemplation;"

Dear Brother Jim,
A very good question.

Sorry, it took me a bit long on the answer. Well, like I said previously, I'm in the very beginning of understanding Scriptures in a more spiritual way, meaning "true" theology, but humbly, through prayer and with the help and the Grace of God, and the TLiG messages, let me try my best to answer your question:

"exactly what scriptures have you compiled whereby you arrive at your signature preamble "In the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary"?"

First of, I honour my earthly mother and my earthly father.  By following the commandment of God:  "honour your father and your mother."   and I can say in a spiritual way I am in the two hearts (meaning in the love of) of my earthly father and mother.  And in the same spirit, I honour, and love above all my Heavenly Father, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, the One God as the Holy Trinity is One, and I love our Holy Mother who is the Mother of Jesus and our Mother also.  If we love our earthly parents, how much more should we show our love towards our Heavenly Father and our Holy Mother, Mother of God?

Sirach 7:27-28
"With all your heart honor your father, and do not forget the birth pangs of your mother.  Remember that through your parents you were born; and what can you give back to them that equals their gift to you?"

The statement: "in The Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary", has a deeper spiritual meaning for me, it means I humbly offer myself in the Abundant and Sublime Love, and Protection, which is represented by the "Hearts" of Jesus, and my Holy Mom,  St. Mary, the Mother of Jesus and our Holy Mother also.

TLiG  October 8, 1987:
"But again, I tell you, daughter, that My Mother is your Mother too; you are Her children; it is written in My Word, and I am telling it again for those who do not know, Scripture says...

Where, Lord?

...in the book of Revelation, that when Satan failed in his pursuit of My Mother, he was enraged with Her and went away to make war on the rest of Her children, that is, all who obey the Commandments and bear witness for Me"

Revelation 12:13
And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had borne the male child.

Revelation 12:17
Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus.

February 10, 1988:
Yes Lord, but our brothers the Protestants say that what You uttered from the Cross was meant literally to John. Your Mother becoming a 'widow' being taken care by John when You were not around. They also say that St Mary is not 'God's Mother.

Yet My Vassula Scripture never lies. Scripture says those words, 'Mother of my Lord,' - Elizabeth spoke these words who was inspired by the Holy Spirit. Write: "Of all women You are the most Blessed and Blessed is the Fruit of Your Womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the Mother of My Lord?" The words I have said from My Cross are much deeper than many of you seem to understand.

Honour My Mother who is your Holy Mother too ."

Luke 1:41-43
and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!  And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

TLiG  February 10, 1988:
"endeavour to keep up your learning; pray for this attainment; I will give you the perception if you ask for it, Vassula. Hear Me again, I want My Words to be known . I, who am God grew in My Mother's Womb -She nourished your God creation! I fed from Her . I who am the Word love Her and honour Her . Vassula, in the very beginning I had given you an account of My Crucifixion - remember when I have said, "My gaze fell on My Mother, I looked upon Her and Our Hearts spoke (A tacit understanding; an interior agreement between Jesus and St Mary) I am giving you My beloved children to be Your children too. You are to be their Mother."

John 19:27
When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son!"

Dear Christian Forums members, I humbly suggest that you read fully these Providential messages of "True Life in God" before rejecting anything that you might not agree with in the beginning.

Also, I have posted a thread about "Miracles, apparitions and visions in our times", where I mention the TLiG messages.  Here is that link:
