If you guys think that Fox News is going to have any reprecussions at all out of this, you're nuts.

At the first sign of any trouble, Murdoch will simply hand Fox News over to one of his cronies so that they would get spared.

They don't realize that as long as there is a demand for news that isn't slanted to the left, "Fox News" isn't going anywhere. Even if it, in it's current incarnation, burns to the ground it will soon rise up again like the Phoenix under some other ownership.

But then again, News Corp has a long established policy of doing things to serve their own interests, that really hurt innocent people. Whether it's hacking into the phone of a murdered innocent girl, or putting Glenn Beck on television who sought to dupe his viewers into buying Gold that was overpriced by more than 30% of it's actual value.

In the end, it's always about the almighty dollar.

Uhh...WHAT??

It is a fact that Beck promoted Goldline heavily, and it is a fact that Goldline's prices are upwards of 30% HIGHER than the current market value.

If you read my post carefully, no where am I disputing the fact that Gold has gone up. I am however pointing out the fact that Goldline (as promoted by Beck) is ripping people off with absurd prices. There are plenty of reputable dealers who sell Gold that is only marked up 1-5% for the exact same coins that Goldline marks up 30%. It's a ripoff, through and through.

For instance, at the time that I write this post, the current price of Gold is $1,602 per ounce.
Kitco (a MUCH more reliable & credible dealer) is selling 1OZ Gold eagles for .. $1,691 EACH.
Monex (a MUCH more reliable & credible dealer) is selling 1OZ Gold eagles for .. $1,660 each.
Apmex (a MUCH more reliable & credible dealer) is selling 1OZ Gold eagles for .. $1,686 EACH
Goldline (the foxnews & beck promoted RIPOFF) is selling 1OZ Gold eagles for .. $2,905 EACH

Notice something here with the price? Goldline is a ~RIPOFF~

Goldline is a gimmick that is being pitched by foxnew and their ilk. Investing in gold is smart if you are paying the approximate market value. It's not smart if you're buying the gold at an absurdly gouged priced, which is what Goldline wants you to do.

Just saying. ;)

Those are prices of Gold eagles. Was Beck pushing those?

Beck was pushing Goldline which has been gouging it's prices horrendously.

Are you insinuating that so long as Beck didn't happen to promote the Gold Eagles in particular, then it's not bad? Despite the fact that American Gold Eagles are pretty much the premiere bullion to purchase?

Beck is plastered pretty much all over Goldline's website.
Goldline is plastered pretty much all over Beck's website.

Goldline is a ripoff, there is no way to argue otherwise. I just hope that you didn't get taken for a ride by Beck and think he was giving you sound & competent financial advice on foxnews or through the radio, by telling you to buy from Goldline.

If Goldline is such a ripoff, Fox has to go

Nah, I disagree with the idea that Fox has to go just because Goldline is a ripoff.

BUT Foxnews promoting a ripoff like goldline so aggressively does indicate that they truly do not care about the financial interests of their viewers/listeners.

It remains about the all-mighty dollar for News Corp & ilk, which brings us back full circle to the phone hacking scandal, where the desire to make a quick buck involved exploiting 9/11 victims, dead soldiers, and murdered children. Much like the desire to make a quick buck involves pitching ripoffs like Goldline and exploiting their viewers who may actually fall for it.

And ilk covers most corporations since money is the reason they exist

Why would Rupert Murdoch be charged with anything, he delegated the duties of the UK subsidiaries to his leftist son. James Murdoch is the President of News International.

Murdoch facilitated all of the felonious activity on his dime and watch.

Don't know how this thread became a discussion about Gold Line, but I'll just add this: if it turns out that Fox News used these phone hacking techniques, there should be a backlash and heads should roll. If not, well....fire or discipline those responsible and let's get on with our lives.

I don't know of any other corporations other than Murdoch's News Corp that sought to make its money via the exploitation of of 9/11 victims, dead soldiers, and murdered children, by hacking their phones.

Do you?

Cue crickets from the right.

Crickets, not unless you've been in another room. You want to hear crickets in here. Listen for the answer to the question about what crimes Rupert Murdoch committed. More crickets? Listen for the answer to the question of how the News Corp situation implicates FoxNews or even brings suspicion on FoxNews.

Chirp, chirp

News of the World Hacking Informant Found Dead

Quote:

In the latest tragic, yet cinematic twist in the News of the World hacking scandal plaguing Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp empire, the whistle-blowing reporter who claimed his editor, Andy Coulson, knew about the hacking has apparently been found dead. The Guardian claims that Sean Hoare, “who worked on the Sun and the News of the World with Coulson before being dismissed for drink and drugs problems,” was just discovered at home in Watford.

Well, he wasn't found in Fort Marcy Park, but still.....

Goldline International, Inc.

1/10-oz. Gold American Eagles
Our Price: $221.38

1/4-oz. Gold American Eagles
Our Price: $543.38

1/2-oz. Gold American Eagles
Our Price: $1,066.63

Bullion Gold American Eagles

1-oz. Gold American Eagles
Our Price: $1,673.00

Actually the ripoff is with the 1/10-oz. gold American Eagles. There is very little upside in gold though. Everyone says there is no bubble', well there isn't that much gold to go around. There is only enough gold right now to fill up two Olympic sized swimming pools, and China and the U.S. I guarantee you holds one of them.

To people who want to invest good, you want a good deal? Put money into CRUS. AAPL had a good earnings report today and their little brother company here CRUS who makes their iPhone chips are doing pretty well. I'd only buy as long as it stays under $17.50 though. And get off at $22.

Want something riskier (not as much as gold though) but more rewarding? NTWK. It's dropping to $1.40 and they have a low P/E ratio and huge contracts just signed early in June to increase their rating for the September conference call. It has a good chance of doubling to $3. Even a $1,000 investment lands you 700 shares of that stuff right now.

I have more faith in those predictions than I do in gold going up any higher than $2,200, and that's the extreme most I see happening for it. Heck I'd even give a few shares of Netflix a shot right now.

Or don't, you know. It's all a risk after all. Ugh. I really should quit getting all riled up over this gold thing...
