I always hear these days from both the right and left how we're in trouble and we all need to chip in and sacrifice, but then the GOP is going to the table with a no negations attitude. It's strikes as disingenuous. They want entitlement programs cut, thus a sacrifice from the elderly, the poor, students, people under 55 who are paying into medicare, etc. But when it comes to those at the top, the ones that have benefitted extremely )and drastically more than anyone else) from the policies of the last 10 years, even asking them to subsidies and loopholes is too big of a sacrifice.

Sorry, rich people don't believe in taxes. They believe in taking as much as possible while claiming it's all rightfully theirs, and poor people are too lazy.

Notice how Dems couragously want to kick the can on entitlement spending when it takes up half of our debt. Anything to keep power. The longer we do nothing the more it will cost just to pay the interest. Europe here we come!

Great idea - lets cut SS and healthcare so we can continue paying to watch schrimp run on treadmills, pay Brazile millions of dollars so they can drill and we'll be their best customer, pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to study prostitutes in China, build that super fast train that we don't need, let that super buddy the CEO of GE hide his money overseas and not pay one dime in taxes, have 35 Czars for a shadow government, 25 aids for Michelle, and on and on and on - but yes, lets' pick on the most defensless people in our society and cut our military - that's really smart thinking.

This is the general idea I'm getting here: Hey no fair! Your not allowed to say what will happen as a result of this! That's fear mongering. Your supposed to pretend that this wont happen if the debt ceiling isn't raised.

That seems to be so. I don't know if they seriously don't realize that the threat is real or if they are just so entrenched in their partisan games that they don't care. It's almost as if the Republicans are so spiteful against Obama that they are willing to sabotage the economy just so they can lay the blame on him.
