Upstairs can represent that which is spiritual. So dreaming of being in an unfamiliar upstairs place could represent a (if only subconscious) feeling of unfamiliarity with something spiritual.

Milk can represent elementary spiritual teachings (1 Corinthians 3:2, Hebrews 5:12-14). So dreaming about wondering whether or not some milk is off could represent wondering (if only subconsciously) whether or not an elementary spiritual teaching, such as Jesus having to die for our sins (which is true, for Jesus himself referred to it in the Last Supper's upstairs room in the night before his death: Mark 14:15,23-24), is wrong.

Ice cubes can represent something we see as being "cold" in the sense of "heartless", so that dreaming of milk that's ice cubes could represent seeing (if only subconsciously, and in the case of the example above, mistakenly) an elementary spiritual teaching as being cruel.

Dreams can express subconscious, "taboo" thoughts by disguising them as symbolic objects within non-threatening scenarios.

All I know is that this dream gave me a very nice impression as well. Your dream seems to validate your feelings of your pastor being an acceptable guide for you spiritually. Also, it seems that he has a relationship with guiding you through something that seemed off, but ended up being ok after his approval. You even find it to only appeared to be off at first, because it was being preserved for your acceptance at a later time.

The dream may not be from God, but simply from your own subconscious mind, expressing some of your own subconscious thoughts.

For example, the pastor in your dream may not actually represent to your subconscious mind the pastor of your congregation, but Jesus himself, the Great/Chief Pastor/Shepherd of all believers (Hebrews 13:20, 1 Peter 5:4, 1 Peter 2:25). Being with him in an upstairs room could represent the idea of being with Jesus in the upstairs room of the Last Supper (Luke 22:12), where he foretold his death for our sins (Luke 22:20). The dream could be about you wondering subconsciously whether his having to die for us was right, and you feeling reassured that it was right, for he agreed to it (John 10:11,17-18), but you still wondering subconsciously (and mistakenly) if his having to die wasn't still "cold as ice", in the sense of cruel.

For another example, if the pastor in your dream does include a representation to your subconscious mind of the pastor of your congregation, the dream may include non-spiritual ideas, even wholly-carnal ones. For an unfamiliar "upstairs room" from a carnal point of view can simply represent an unfamiliar bedroom, where fornication might occur. I poured out some milk and it looked really off and I wondered whether it was or not. The Pastor took some and the milk seemed fine. I realised the milk wasnt off it just looked off. So I took some for myself. The milk wasnt like liquid, it was like little ice cubes of bumpy milk in liquid.

In real life I totally respect my pastor he is an awesome man of God and had huge impact on many of us.

Any thoughts as to what God may be saying here, I feel it is a positive dream.

The Lord is showing your pastor is alright, Jesus is also showing true love is found by keeping our eyes and hope in the Lord.. No lumps in Jesus' love..
