My wife has lots of relatives in Lancaster County~we were just there last weekend; interesting place to visit especially if you get off the tourist path.

Lehman's store in Kidron Ohio has everything an
Amish or off-the-grid Englisher could want. I could wander around the place for days. Daniel Raber's carriage shop in Millersburg Ohio is better than an art museum to me. Here's an example of Daniel's work for an englisher like me:

I am a big fan of the Amish and Old Order Mennonite Communities in Kentucky.

i am a fan of Amish and i think Pennsylvania is best for Amish place.

I live in Lancaster, PA. And I love the Amish lifestyle. I do not agree to much with the Amish, but I do love how much conservative they are. ^^

I was in Wisconsin for vacation last week and my family visited the Amish community around Cashton, WI. The land is so nice up there. It was a great visit.

Grabill, Indiana just outside of Fort Wayne near the Ohio border. Amish and Mennonites live side by side. Nappanee, Indiana is nice too.

Upstate New York has lots of Amish and Mennonite. Especially Wayne, Yates and Seneca counties.

My late grandmother was from there. Her family once owned Troyer's Hollow.

I was in Amish country this weekend in Ethridge, TN. I have some friends down there that give me good deals on bulk veggies when we are canning. There are ALOT of Yoders and Gengrich's there. I bought my wood burning stove there three years ago. It is what we heat our house with in the winter.

I don't know of any amish places because living in England. I think there are amish people who live in Ireland though.
About a year or so ago, there was a program on t.v about four amish teenagers coming over to experience life in Britain. The places they stayed does not represent the whole of Britain of course
I respect the amish for not wanting to be apart of the world - who can blame them.
