the thing about being single that is better is you don't answer to anyone but yourself. You can do as you please. That has advantages and disadvantages. when there are 2 you share the load, if you trip and fall someone is there to help you up.

The thing I missed a lot was when kids came so did the Telletubbies and The wiggles- I missed my sanity for a couple of years till they grew out of that. That is definitely an advantage of single life no kids Tv..enjoy it while you can.

I miss having my family around (I am living over 1000 miles away from them). Also, when you are single, as others have said, your time, your life decisions, and your body are your own. When you are married, that is not the case anymore. You share all those things with your spouse and everything involves considering your other half.

Basically this.

More specifically, most of the things I miss have to do with growing out my hair and being more lax about shaving. My wife likes me "groomed" where as I like the "mountain man" look. The other thing I miss is being able to be a blanket and bed space hog with no consequences :p.

I really don't. I eat whatever I want for dinner most of the time anyway. The things I miss that I did when I was single, that I don't do now, have nothing to do with my relationship status. For instance, I used to go Swing Dancing on Sunday nights. I could still go if I wanted to, but I'm broke. So I didn't miss it because of singleness, I miss it because I'm poor. lol.

I really don't miss anything about being single.

Come on. You guys have to miss something. What about having whatever you want for dinner?
^_^^_^^_^^_^

Actually having what you want for dinner is not the problem once you are married. It's keeping the extra pounds off that's the real problem! :p

Seriously, I love having a companion around. I love having someone to talk to. I love waking up in the morning and seeing that precious woman laying next to me in bed. A bunch of buddies or a dog could never replace her. Whatever benefits I had as a single, their value has been utterly swallowed up in marital bliss (and 30 years of it!).

I have certain friends and family members who are in less-than-healthy marriages, who do things to each other than quite obviously cause and exacerbate marital strife. I miss being able to be around them without having to worry about accidentally taking those bad habits home.

Then again, before I was married I was "taking them home" anyway in the form of general bitterness about the whole institution. Guess that goes along with the familiar and very true adage: marriage makes you get rid of people and influences you should have gotten rid of anyway.

Sometimes we bicker over which DVD to watch. ;) If I were single that wouldn't be a problem, but then again, I wouldn't have someone to watch the movie with, so.....

I don't miss being single.

Life was simpler, but that doesn't mean it was better. Remi is my favourite person in the world to hang out with, I don't 'get sick' of him being around, or think I could've 'done better.'

Granted we all need alone time every so often, but I get that when he's at work.
By the time he comes home, I've missed him and happy to see him walk through the door.

Nope, I wouldn't go back to being single for anything. :)

Being married has literally made my life for the better...my husband has truly brought out my best qualities and ive changed sooo much because of him...but, in honesty, the thing i mostly miss about being single is having my own complete privacy of space right when i want to have it...being married, u are not thinking of only ur needs and desires, but ur spouse's needs and desires as well. I cant do whatever i want to do on my own anymore. I have to compromise and make sacricfices or wait for certain things. Once a person finds that special someone to be with forever in heart, its not hard to share everything. Id rather be married over being single anyday. lol...but there will always be advantages and disadvantages to being single and married. One would just have to be completely sure, that being married is the life they want.

Being married I assume you are with the one you love most of all and things are usually better than when you were alone. That said, what do you miss most about being single?

I miss being able to be selfish.. But I'm glad I'm not. ;)
I absolutely loved being single. I really embraced that time of my life while I had the chance. So, it's easier for me to let it go without regrets and really embrace THIS time of my life just as much.
