Please pray for my eldest son. He is not well today and his BP is 160/90 He is only 34 but is very overweight and he has an addiction to junk food. He was very upsest by the NHL Game 7 riots here in Vancouver on Wednesday night. It has really made him so upset. He is very sad for Vancouver as all decent people are at the antics of a few rabble rousers and anarchists but he says he feels like he is having a nervous breakdown. He is off with his dad and brother to help clean up the new (older) condo he and his brother just bought but I am not sure how much help he will be unless he calms down. Thank you so much Jan

Where The Road Leads
The road always leads back home,
No matter which way your feet tend to roam.
All my life this is what I heard people say,
Many was the time I tried to go some other way.
"There's no place like home," have you heard this one too?
When we try to leave we find this is so true.
The surroundings familiar, the smells so sweet,
There's no place like home, our hearts repeat.
Have you ever smelled something that takes you back in time?
Or seen a scene that completely clouds your mind?
Take a trip down memory lane and you will understand,
That the road to home is something mighty, mighty grand.
Think about all the times you wanted to run away,
To find a place that gave a new start to another brand new day.
And when you settled into that place all new,
You found that to go home again was all you wanted to do.
I've read that the road to heaven has many bumps and curves.
It is mighty narrow, never widens, never swerves.
So as you travel down life's road,
And at times when you feel that heavy load.
Know that there is a map to find your way home.
You can call 911, but not on the telephone.
Just put your hands together, close your eyes and bow your head.
Remember all the Words to you so many times He has said.
Home is where the heart is. Where is yours today?
Is it safe with Jesus, or has it gone astray?
Keep your eyes on Him no matter where you roam.
Then one day before long, you find your road is leading home.

My son had a rough weekend and stayed away (he currently lives with us) Saturday night and did not come to our Father's Day Dinner. He is home now as of Sunday night and asked me to make a doctors appointment and asked me to go with him tomorrow. Please pray that he will get the help he needs. This doctor is nice but he as a very fit body builder type I don't think he gets people who truly struggle with food addiction. My son was also diagnosed as a kid with ADD and OCD. He was on meds for awhile but go off them at Bible School where he had a terrific support group and folks who were medicine phobic. He has never gone back on and has been spinning his wheels pretty much since then.

Taking mother for pet scan in am. (Scan determines if cancer has spread to other areas.)
Please pray all goes well with that. (It's difficult just to physically get her someplace now especially since I have some back problems which are flaring up now.) Please pray that she be able to endure anything necessary with the test. Thanks!

I hope the trip for the scan went ok. I also pray they will not find signs of cancer spread.
My son and I went to the doctor this afternoon. The doctor is taking it very seriously and will put him on medication try to get him in an eating disorders clinic do extensive blood work and ECG and late in July a full physcial. I think he is relieved.
