Brothers and Sisters,

I just found out that I've won an all expense paid vacation to Iraq (or somewhere in that neighborhood) for the summer.

In case you didn't know, I'm in the Air Force. I retire in 2 years.

What bothers me is that I keep feeling like I made it through 18 years just to spend the last 2 fighting a war.

Please pray for my wife, Teresa, son Kenny, and daughter Ashley.

For the record: I'm not complaining about deploying, this is my chosen profession and I'm sworn to the duty. It's my family that I'm concerned about. I love them with all of my heart and I hate to leave them.

Peace,

John

Remeber God will be looking after you and them all the time, please don't think I am beng patronising, it is not my intention.

Thank you all for your prayers. I too was in the gulf war. I have a difficult time calling that one a war though. The only ones that were in any danger were the Iraqis. (I'm kidding) My job can be dangerous at times but I usually get to stay back and wait for the fight to come to me. THe only thing that really scares me is chemical/biological weapons.

Yeah, right, can we say: "friendly fire"? You many not have been in any danger from the Iraqi army, but keep an eye over your shoulder.

I do think it is going to get messy. He has already said he will use chemical weapons and set the oil fields on fire again. But this is just a time of judgements. The real war will be during the time of tribulation when God's wrath is poured out.

Then you will see some real chemicals weapons. For example I expect that most of Hong Kong will be taken out by chemical weapons, although the building will still be there, there will be a lot less people to live in them when it's over. Just the ones who had enough sense to go out and buy a gas mask.

But that is pretty far off in the future. For now we have a job to to do to take this gospel to the whole world. It does not take a lot of people to get the job done. Gideon only needed 300 people. Who were willing to break their earthen vessel, let their light shine and sound the trumpet. Even today Gideons army will have a torch in one hand and a trumpet in the other hand.
