I agree with those who say to get your eyesight checked out by an eye specialist.

I am very wary of strange sensory experiences. The Holy Spirit works in the spiritual realm and not through the senses. Flashes of light are not part of the fruit of the Spirit. Signs and wonders are the works that Jesus did, and what He told us to do: heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons.

The Jews were looking for great flashes of light in the sky to herald the coming of the Messiah, and they were so looking in the wrong direction, they missed the real Messiah when He came to give us the good news.

If we are looking for and trusting in sensory experiences, the devil is always on hand to give them to us in order to misdirect our faith away from God's Word and Jesus Christ.

There is absolutely no support in the New Testament of Spirit Filled Christians experiencing flashes of light generated by the Holy Spirit. The evidences that the Holy Spirit was active in Acts was that believers spoke in tongues, healed the sick and cast out demons.

As it says, those who believe, as for those that dont, I hope the OP comes back on and gives us a report just so those that dont will

My friend reckons they are angelic.

They have suddenly come to an end.

I do wonder if the angels are on assignment or whether its something else.

I did wonder if my eyesight was playing tricks at one point, but that appears not to be the case now.

Does the bible mention this ?

I know the angels are ministering Spirits etc etc.

The flashes came to me intermittently and were definitely in the realm of the Spirit, no one else saw them, even though sometimes I was surrounded by people.

this one right here, makes me question your entire testimony....it's the word ugly form...scripture does not describe demons as ugly...in fact, in Gen. we see that the serpent was a very beautiful creature. I myself have seen demons, and they were not ugly creatures. I wouldn't describe them as beautiful per sae because of their motives, but as to ugly, that wouldn't fit the description either because as scripture testifies, they are not ugly.

Just my two cents...for what it's worth...if our experiences are not those that line up with scripture, we should reexamine our experiences.

I have seen the holy spirit leave my body and slap them on the side of the head

and many other occurances.

NO, I am not nuts, just open to God.

I believe in signs and wonders - the power of God. I don't go after them, they just happen.

As to signs and wonders, go God....as to flashes of light, could be physical issue with your eyes or God, don't know, but the advice of having it checked out seems wise.

I say enjoy what God is doing and let the unbelievers wallow in unbelief. You had the test and it seems that still ismnt enough so let them to their folly and enjoy what God is doing in your life

As I mentioned previously, my real hesitation is in some of your descriptions not being consistent with scripture, so, with the eye test settled, my next question would be, whether or not they are from God...scripture tells us to test the spirits to see if they are from God...what tests have you done to see if it is from God or Satan?

questioning brow...so you think that scripture says to test the spirits but it doesn't really mean to test the spirits because there isn't a scripture and verse for everything? Why then would we be told to test the spirits it that isn't what we were suppose to do...btw, I'm not suggesting that there is a scripture and verse for everything, as in, scripture X says God gives us flashes of light...rather I am suggesting we test the spirits as scripture tells us to...by lining it up with the totality of scripture and thus we know if the message is one of God or not, how He gives the message is at His command.

I have never felt any HOLY SPIRIT alerts from within or without when they happen. i am in the "zone" as they say. I feel at peace.

a very awesome verse to be sure, however, I am not suggesting that we can find everything God does in one book or even a set of books. What I am suggesting is that when God tells us to test the spirits to see if they are from God, He means that we should test the spirits to see if they are from God. If you haven't yet done that, I would suggest you do, after all, it is what God commands us to do...I John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
