Unlike many professing believers in this world, I do not believe and will never believe that the Jewish people have been continuously hounded, persecuted, and brutally murdered over and over and over again, for more than 2,000 years, because God is "punishing them" for rejecting Christ as their Messiah.......

If you are a Christian and you wish to believe such an abominable thing, that is your choice......

But, for whatever reason (if any logical reason actually exists), the Jewish people have suffered far, far more than any people in the history of human civilization......

.....and I can not understand why........

I do not blame God......I blame men......

Inhumanly evil men who were more brute animals than they were human beings....demons walking around in flesh-and-blood bodies, pretending to be people.....

I know I am not the only one who has contemplated whether or not there is any possible meaning or purpose behind 2,000 years of non-stop misery and persecution for the Jewish people.....

Why have the Jewish people suffered so much for so long??

Satan is at war with God. If he can wipe out the Jews, it would be a victory against God's will given in prophecy (scripture).

That's what I think, anyway. I recently read that in one of Stan Telchin's books too (actually, about 6 years ago! LOL)

prophetic... be careful for what you say.. it may come back to haunt you.

OK...not sure if you are saying that the Jewish religious leaders who have historically spoken against Jesus and have persecuted the church (early) were the cause of the persecution...

I could explain further, what will happen to them in the future, but people would be offended. I am heart sick for them.

Jeremiah 9:16
I will scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known, and I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them.”

Jeremiah 29:18
I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth, a curse and an object of horror, of scorn and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them.

That's already happened. What's left now is the ingathering. At the Redemption, Israel is promised that they will NEVER AGAIN go into exile or be punished by God.

Isaiah 54:2-8, 14-15 (Judaica Press Tanach)
2. Widen the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations, do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.
3. For right and left shall you prevail, and your seed shall inherit nations and repeople desolate cities.
4. Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed, and be not embarrassed for you shall not be put to shame, for the shame of your youth you shall forget, and the disgrace of your widowhood you shall no longer remember.
5. For your Master is your Maker, the Lord of Hosts is His name, and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of all the earth.
6. For, like a wife who is deserted and distressed in spirit has the Lord called you, and a wife of one's youth who was rejected, said your God.
7. "For a small moment have I forsaken you, and with great mercy will I gather you.
8. With a little wrath did I hide My countenance for a moment from you, and with everlasting kindness will I have compassion on you," said your Redeemer, the Lord.
...
14. With righteousness shall you be established, go far away from oppression, for you shall not fear, and from ruin, for it will not come near you.
15. Behold, the one with whom I am not, shall fear, whoever mobilizes against you shall defect to you.
I like how the NASB put the last two verses there:
14. "In righteousness you will be established;
You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear;
And from terror, for it will not come near you.
15. "If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me.
Whoever assails you will fall because of you."
After God completely restores Israel, he promises that any assault upon Israel will not be from him. Israel will not be punished like this again.

As per the OP... Why has Israel suffered so much? I think that's found in the words of the Prophet, too:
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins. (Isaiah 40:2, NIV)

Not until after the coming of the Two Witnesses will those things take place. In the future Jew will turn against Jew, and all Orthodox Judaism will be destroyed for what they have done and will do.

I disagree. I believe many Orthodox Jews are closer to Messiah Yeshua than many so-called "christians". They just need to recognize Him for who He is. Many "christians" refuse to obey God while doing works in Yeshua's name and Messiah Yeshua will reject them because they were not following God. The Orthodox Jews are obeying God and just need to see Yeshua as Messiah which WILL happen (and very soon)

Matthew 7

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The time for Christ second coming will go beyond what people now think. The Civil Hebrew calendar is off by 140 years.
Habakkuk 2

1 I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

The LORD’s Answer
2 Then the LORD replied:
“Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a messenger may run with it.
3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come
and will not delay.
