That doesn't sound so bad to me. Why wouldn't you be proud to show who you donated to, Wolseley?

Anybody who wants to investigate who I've donated do has my complete permission.

I'll make it easy for you, though: I haven't donated to anybody. I have never given a dime to any politician of any stripe as long as I've lived, and I do not intend to start now.

Just because I don't donate, that doesn't mean that Obama should think that he has the right to prohibit those who do---especially just because they're not donating to him or his party.

He isn't prohibiting them?

How you manage to turn a drive towards political transparity into sinister intimidation is beyond me. Unpicking the cosy relationship between contractor lobbyists and government should be a welcome sign for those who bemoan corruption and 'Washington politics'. But no, a Democrat is doing it, so we'd best knee-jerk and think of the worst possible misinterpretation.

this was my favorite part:
from OP said:
Is President Obama running scared? That’s certainly one explanation for two recent efforts to squash the flow of money into GOP campaign coffers.

It may be one explanation but it isn't the only possible explanation. :D

"Obama Trying to Intimidate GOP Voters?"

No....O is trying to eliminate GOP voters.....

...you mean if companies have to reveal who they contribute too, people will be so shocked at how much money the GOP gets from big business they'll stop voting for Republicans?

Actually, the GOP is obviously not getting nearly as much money from "big business" as the Demoncrats....If they were, they'd be running the country and the tree-hugging socialists would be looking for a job......

LOL! That would be the LAST thing Republicans what! If they were "running the country" they'd have to come up with some way to clean up the mess instead of stand on the sidelines and criticize.

Is President Obama Trying to Intimidate GOP Voters? - FoxNews.com

Looks like Barry can see the handwriting on the wall, so he's engaging in typical Chicago street-thug shenanigans to make "sure" he gets re-elected....

Like what happened when people from Rand Paul's group threw a woman to the ground so hard that her head went up and down on hard cement? Of course, all she was doing was holding a sign that she wanted to get on camera. Even a police officer was standing right there. The person who had his knee on the woman's neck said that they had to do something because the police officers wouldn't do anything (they were smart enough to know that if they did do something they wouldn't have a leg to stand on since she was doing nothing other than exercising her right to free speech). Which thugs did these people learn from?

Or people that the GOP politicians supposedly represent might understand why they don't seem to vote for what is in their best interests (like for subsidies for the oil companies and other major corporations/wealthy people).

Requiring federal contractors to disclose who they are giving money to (bribing) is not a move to intimidate anyone except those who are bribing politicians for government contracts.

You do not have a right to a federal contract.

You do not have a right to secret campaign donations (go ask justice Scallia if you don't believe me).

If MONEY IS EQUIVALENT TO SPEECH, campaign contributions certainly aren't private speech.
