The absolute best video game soundtrack is Ys Book I&II (the soundtrack is almost 15 years old but is still musically and technologically comptetitive with anything produced today). Honorable mentions are Xenogears and Final Fantasy Tactics.

The best anime soundtracks are Shoujo Kakumei Utena (my favorite anime by far), Please Save My Earth, and Vision of Escaflowne.

Best single video game song is "To Make The End of Battle" from Ys I&II.

Best single anime song is "kaze ga fuku hi" from Escaflowne.

I must concede that "Aeris's Theme" (did I get that name right) from it was some of the best music in the history of RPGs

sounds promising Susan! i recently listened to a final fantasy music... it said it's by Enya, but no one sings. um, eitherway, it's still lovely, makes me think of the kind of music you get in a rpg when the characters are resting in a village or something, lol.

Yeah, that's a good one. I also like Subterranean Canal, Tower of the Shadow of Death, Don't Go So Smoothly, and a few songs from other Ys games (Sealed Time and Valestine Castle from Ys III, Dawn of Ys from Ys IV)

Blessed-one, you should read up on both Ruruoni Kenshin and Tenchi Muyo before deciding to see them. They are two completely different series. Kenshin is a series/movies/OVAs about a former assassian who decides not to kill anyone anymore and Tenchi is a comedy/action/drama series about a boy named Tenchi who ends up living with 5 or 6 different women.

I saw the censored Cartoon Network Tenchi and liked it, but the uncensored version has nudity(though mostly undetailed) and more innuendos(I haven't seen the uncensored version, I just heard about it).

From what I heard, the Kenshin OVAs are more serious and violent than the TV series. They are about how Kenshin turn from a cold blooded killer into a pacifist(or so I heard). The TV series/movie is about Kenshin's life after quitting the assassian profession.

oh Brian, Kenshin is such such a cool anime!! it's so moving..... and its themes so deep! What strikes me most is that it doesn't quite center the theme around love between male and female, but the internal struggle within Kenshin himself as he carries the burden of guilt with him. He has to try to balance this burden with a new life. (quite a unique anime i reckon)

oh.. i'm too moved, i'll give one of the themes here. Kenshin found out from his sword master that the will to live is most important. Before, Kenshin's trying to fight to protect others, he doesn't care whether he'll be killed in the process, but now, he understands what really gives him the true strength, it is the will to live. I just read some comments from people online, one said that Kenshin is selfless in order to protect others, but he also has to be selfish in order to live.

arrrr.... confusing uh? :)

Sounds like a cool series. Blessed-one, which anime does your avatar come from?

I have been watching some old Toonami videos that I recorded with the edited version of Tenchi Universe and I love it. I found out that Tenchi Universe actually hasn't been edited nearly as much as the Tenchi Muyo OAVs. Most of the edits in Tenchi Universe were changing Sake to Tea, though they actidentially left a referance to Sake in it.

I like the Lupin III series on CN, but I'm thinking of getting the DVD of the series so I can see them without the pop-culture referances and with the original voice of Lupin III that I read is the same voice of Lupin III in Castle of Cagliostro. I liked the silly sounds that he made in Castle of Cagliostro.
