What are some books you like to read over and over again?
I like rereading that one too, but I think I've reread parts of it more times than rereading the whole thing. I probably have some parts memorized. The Ring trilogy by Tolkein.
I've read and reread a lot of books by Mark Twain, but I've never read War Prayer, maybe I'll read it. It's always nice when books are in public domain. After reading another thread here I remembered one more.
The War Prayer by Mark Twain,
It is easily found online as it is now public domain. Easy to read, only a couple of pages long. When I gbouth it as a traditional book teh cover blurb talling about the books history waws almost as long as the story. I'll jsut say that blurb ended with Twain being asked if he would publish hte story. Twain replied somethgin like 'In this I have told the whole truth, that is something no living man should do, it may be published when I am dead.'
But people should be careful about listening to me, I am a Lunatic and a savage. (But my hair is not yet white and I am definately not deathly pale).
I'll pull out a favorite book every year or so and reread it.
Some I've reread are anything by C. S. Lewis, especially The Screwtape Letters and the Narnia series.
To Kill a Mockingbird
A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry
In His Steps
The Hiding Place
Through Gates of Splendor
Red Adam's Lady by Grace Ingram
The Hawk and the Dove by Penelope Wilcock
The Lost Princess by George MacDonald
OK, maybe I'd better stop now!
