I actually own a tux that I have only worn 3 times. It wouldn't be modest of me to wear it to Mass even if I felt I was doing it to honor the Lord right?

Actually, in my previous parish you *could* wear it. (Of course someone might confuse with an usher. ^_^ )

Actually, I see nothing wrong in dressing nice--modestly nice--for Our Lord. Am in awe that my Baptist sister-in-law does (even has two wardrobes--one for everyday and one for church) and the Baptists don't even have the Real Presence like we do.

I was thinking of getting active in the color guard a couple weeks ago but everyone is probably 20 years older than I am I think.

Anyway, I even went so far as to get the form to transfer my 4th degree from Maine to here but when I found out the dues were 5 times as much decided to just keep it where it is. :)

Don't really want to spring for a chapeau, cape and sword yet either.

I know after this past holy week and Easter it appears the new scheduler for acolytes at my parish plays favorites. :(

I so hate internal politics.

Strictly speaking, you could only wear it to an evening Mass. Wearing a tux in the day time is a no-no, like white pants after labour day.

Here I am Brikkz. And if anyone wants to know socks are agnostic because they don't know if there is a God or not. Probably shoes are God? Not going to speculate...

hehe
as long as you're not holy. holy socks are not very comfy. are you self cleaning? and do you go in the dresser by yourself? :p

I did buy a pair of church pants but I still don't get why you couldn't wear a $75 dollar pair of denim jean shorts to church.

is that average price for a pair of shorts? i could go to a thrift store and dress myself for a whole year with that much. depend how short it is i guess. i personally don't think Church is the place for shorts but i know some people who do. one guy in particular, he goes for a 20 miles run right out of mass so he dress to be comfy for his Sunday run.

if you want something else then my opinion, here's the Vatican's dress code.

I giggled when I read "booty" shorts because I saw the image in my head. Cellulite+booty shorts -snort-

Continue.

Then I saw booty shorts..shorts that hold booty and not butt more like...pirates booty. So if you wore booty shorts to the mass....you'd better put some in the collection.

Oh yeah- we got those all over the place, no matter where you live, in weather like this, they come out and get inside your house but they only fly when they're crawling on the walls or celling and and they lose their grip or you try to knock them down with your broom, and THAT'S when the fly! and they always seem to fly right at you.

so you mean to tell me other ppl don't have these cockroaches... just us? Hmmm.
