I've been re-watching the most recent season of doctor who and noticed that every time Amy has to leave the doctor a note or vise versa the doctor leaves Amy a note it's with a red pen. Is there a reason for that or just coincidence?

maybe its one of those things we will never know...like is there a toilet in teh TARDIS... I used to wonder that all the time when I was a kid...I once wrote a short story where the Doctor had a fake cricket pitch in his TARDIS and the other Doctors would visit and play a game with him (5th Doctor story)

The question of "why red?" intrigued me, so I watched the entire 13 episodes over the weekend and into Monday. The nearest I can figure is that the pen had to be red because in the first episode Rory was wearing a red pen in his scrubs pocket. Perhaps it had to be a red pen because it stemmed from Amy's imagination all along and was necessary so that she could recall it at a later date to bring Rory back into existence.

Or, it may have been red simply because red is cool! Or, because it points to the reference that red is for the future and blue is for the past (watch as the doctor switches bowties in each episode).

Just have to say, after watching the series one after the other, back to back, I'm more than half convinced that River Song could be a Time Lady (if not the Doctor in a weird sort of way), and I'm also convinced that Steve Moffat is perhaps the most interesting author we've had yet! Loved it...TWICE!

Nine days to go! We should do a recap of last season...

New Doctor: Not a girl, still not ginger!
New companion: A girl, ginger!
New console, new interior and new exterior--crack in the continuum register, TARDIS still bigger on the inside with a swimming pool that'll turn up somewhere, and a new "old" St. John's Ambulance sticker on the door.
New clothes for the doctor: Bowties and fezzes are cool!
New sonic screwdriver: Green laser and claw-like projections.
New skills: The Doctor can open the TARDIS with a snap of his fingers (finally!), and he learns to park the TARDIS quietly.

I can't wait! Unfortunately, I will be out of town, but I will DVR it. And, if I have the evening free, I will try to find it to watch it live!
