Eph says...

John I'll guess you mean Roman Catholic here...??

To my knowledge the RC's don't deny that Jesus came out of the Tomb and rose from the dead..So their starting point for faith is STILL no different than the "Baptists"......

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the basis of ALL Christian Faith...no matter what "denomination" they may be in...IF they teach that..they are Christians...if they don't..then the answer is axiomatic...they aren't..!

The entire Protestant branch of the Christian Church is but an outgrowth FROM the Roman Branch of the Christian Church..that would include the "baptists" whether they know it or not..!

Changing the World, One story at a time
I am baptist born, I believe it is large misunderstanding and stereotyping.

Most people don't study for themselves and believe what others say that sound the juciest.

luckily our church isn't that way and people there aren't, but I DO see it at places

John
In all my Southern Baptist church experience I have heard complaints/comparisons such as:

1) Baptist beleive Catholics are Christians (are saved). :)
2) They dont believe in Saints they way Catholics do.
3) Baptist get their name from Catholic persecution starting in the 4th century or so.
4) They dont recognize the extra books (Apocropha (sp?))Catholic bible.

THeir worship of otherthan Jesus christ (they worship mary and othersaints)

Not tomention their sacrements wich denie ephesians 2:8,9 Which teaches salvation by grace through faith

I dont belive that most catholics are saved, I do not think that they have accepted chris for they do not elieve aceptance and faith is what gains acces to heaven.

Now then, speaking as a Catholic:
THeir worship of otherthan Jesus christ (they worship mary and othersaints)
You're incorrect here; Catholics do not worship Mary or saints.
Not tomention their sacrements wich denie ephesians 2:8,9 Which teaches salvation by grace through faith
Catholics do not believe in salvation by works. As for the sacraments, however, check your Bible:

Baptism: Matthew 28:19
Confirmation: Acts 19:5-6
Confession: James 5:16
Extreme Unction: James 5:14-15
Holy Eucharist: Matthew 26:26ff, Mark 14:22ff, Luke 22:17ff, John 6:35ff, 1 Corinthians 11:23ff
Holy Orders: Acts 14:22, Titus 1:5
Matrimony: Mark 10:7ff, Hebrews 13:4
I dont belive that most catholics are saved
You're entitled to your opinion. I'm sure you will not be surprised if I don't happen to agree with you.
I do not think that they have accepted chris
You're right. I've never "accepted chris". :)
for they do not elieve aceptance
You're right again; to my knowledge, I have never "elieved aceptance" either, whatever that is.

and faith is what gains acces to heaven.
Faith is a good part of it, no doubt about that. However, you can't have faith without grace, and faith without works is dead.

Guys, it all boils down to how much you LOVE. I mean, I could say I love my children and if I don't do anything good for them, do I really love them? I could say I love my neighbor, but if it's too much for me to give them a hand or forgive them, do I really love them? In the same way, I can say I love God with all my heart, but if I won't give him a drink or some food when I see him in the eyes of a hungry man, do I really love him?

No.

There is no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend, so if I lay down my life for Jesus, it just proves and strengthens my love for him which is why many of the saints wouldn't even ask for martyrdom because if is a great gift, to be able to die for your Savior.

Look at Abraham, how much did he love God? He loved God enough to give him his only beloved son. Would you do that?

The stress isn't on faith vs. works, it's on Love. If you have no love, you have nothing.

Mother Theresa said, "It's not necessary to do great things, just small things with Great Love."

Peace,
Theresa

Non-Denom

What is "non-denominational?" How can someone say "I'm non-denominational", does that mean you pick and chose what you like from other Church denominations?

Quick Answer: Much of what is referred to as "nondenominational" is actually "interdenominational." What's the difference? "Interdenominational" accepts all beliefs, "nondenominational" rejects all man-made doctrines and strives to follow only what the Bible teaches.

Long Answer: w w w . holyhacker .c o m/nondenominational/

Grace and peace be with you all in the precious and mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Amen! Im not Catholic, im Pentecostal. Im not trying to be funny nor judgemental here, but I think Catholics and Pentecostals believe in More of the Bible than any other denomination. Yes we all believe we have to be obedient to the word after salvation. I have been to lots of churches since im an evangelist. I travel alot and visit all sorts of churches. Churches that are on fire, churches on the borderline, and churches where you cant get an amen(even tho they can shout for their favorite player at the football game the night before)
And over the years I have noticed as i am sure lots of you have noticed- The Pentecostals and Catholics are the two most persecuted churches in the world.
God Bless
