To clear up any confusion, the reason I called you a fool is because you were yawning at and diminishing other people's testimonies, as if your testimonies are somehow better or more exciting.

That's foolish, and I make no apologies for saying so.

SHOW ME THE POWER OF GOD!

- Well the government helped me.

- Well I found my missing hubcap.

Yeah those were so exciting that they made the news.....of wait they didn't, but mine did.

- Well some family members or friends gave us money on our 10 ANNIVERSARY...wow what a miracle.

The baby one was cool, I like that one.

A testimony of God's healing power...

When I was only 5 years old, I was diagnosed with many, many allergies. If it was possible to be allergic to it, I was allergic to it. I was put on allergy medication and told that I would be on it for the rest of my life.

Even at that young age, that didn't sit right in my heart. So, much to the chagrin of well-meaning Christians who tried to convince me that I was in "denial", I began to thank God for healing me of allergies.

For 10 years, I dealt with my allergies, taking the medication that had been prescribed for me. Then one night in the summer, when allergy season was in full swing, I was lying in my bedroom, nose running, eyes watering, sneezing... a typical evening for me in allergy season. So, I decided I was going to go to bed early. I said my prayers like I had done every night for the last 10 years, thanked God for healing me, and went to sleep.

The next morning when I woke up, I was completely healed of allergies! My head was clear, my eyes were not watering, and I felt better than I had felt in a long time. I told my mom I didn't need my allergy medication any more, but she insisted I continue to take it until we could call the doctor to see what he thought.

So we scheduled an appointment for the following week, and I went back in to be re-tested for allergies. Where before I was allergic to everything, this time I was allergic to nothing!

The doctor said it was pointless for me to stay on my medication and declared me allergy free. That was 18 years ago this summer.

To this day, I don't know why I suffered with allergies for 10 years, but overnight, God healed me completely. I've had doubters say that sometimes people outgrow allergies, and that's true. But not overnight. The doctor was pretty amazed at how quickly I had gone from allergy symptom craziness to completely allergy free!

I give God all the glory for that healing, and I am so thankful that we serve Jehovah Rapha, God our Healer!

Here's a scripture that you might want to consider;
Galatians 6:4 (AMP)
But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor.

The baby one was cool, I like that one.

I'm so very pleased to have posted a testimony that meets your exacting standards of coolness. :p

The money we received in our PayPal account was not for our 10th anniversary. It was a gift that God had spoken to 2 people to give to us "just because", as they told me.

In any event, your disrespect for the things God has done for others is disheartening. It's sad that you feel the need to attempt to one-up others with more "extraordinary" and "news-worthy" testimonies in a thread where people should just feel free to share the things God has done for them, no matter how "big" or "small" they may be.

A testimony of how God called me when I was very young...

The best testimony I can offer is that of my salvation. People have tried to tell me it's impossible, but God has granted me the ability to recall the moment I walked down the aisle at that Nazarene church and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Honestly, I used to tell people I didn't have a testimony concerning my salvation. I mean, people would tell you how God saved them from drugs, alcohol, suicide, etc., and I had nothing anywhere near as "flashy". But about 5 years ago, God spoke to me and said "Stop telling people you have no testimony. I've held you in my hand since you were born."

It was then that I began to realize that God had completely protected me from drugs, alcohol, suicidal thoughts, etc. IOW, I didn't have to go through any of those things. God also provided me with 2 loving, Christian parents who raised me in the admonition of the Lord. He also provided me with a Loving church family that I have been a part of for over 30 years now.

When I hear those awesome testimonies of how God saved people from all of those dire circumstances, He reminds me that I never had to go through any of those circumstances, and that is my testimony.

How the church receives is a very important ingredient. We should receive each others gifts, testimonies, love, etc. with joy and thanksgiving. Criticism hinders others.

Things like hubcaps and money for a good time shows where your heart is, and isn't.
With the horrors that other people have to deal with in this world, and the hard hearted christians in the richest most powerful country in the world ignoring them, you think I'm going to stand here and applaud you????

Now I know about cute little things that God does from time to time.
But soon these problems that many in the world suffer is going to be right up in your face, if they already haven't.

You try telling those testimonies to unbelievers "The government helped me, it was an act of God." and they'll look at you like you're crazy, and rightly so.I even think that's crazy!
Maybe you were the victim and that's why you needed that help from the government, maybe you were foolish with your money.
But it's a sad day when the government is doing what the church should be doing.

Churches waste the tithe money at an alarming rate.
And teach the people who are living to please the flesh, to be "content", as if it was possible for the flesh to be content when your focus is to please it and ignore living like Christ.

Absolutely disgusting!

This says more about your heart than it does about everyone else's.
You may have many testimonies, but you don't seem to know much about the Father's Love. If you did, these stories wouldn't be foolish to you.

The church is in His Hands. It's a matter of seeing grapes or giants.

Now concerning these testimonies, I see men who trust their Father for their needs and I see Our Provider providing for His children. They are not testifying about stuff, they are testifying about a relationship. If a person is healed through the hand of a doctor, do we reject God's involvement? No. I have no issues with God providing through the government. The hub cap is an awesome testimony! It wasn't any hub cap, it was THE hub cap. It testifies of a personal God.

Bingo. It's good to see someone understands.

Me either. ;)

If God wants to bless me with nearly $35,000 worth of home improvements at no cost to me via the government, I'm cool with that.

The hub cap is an awesome testimony! It wasn't any hub cap, it was THE hub cap. It testifies of a personal God.

Exactly.

You think I'm looking for applause? You're the one that's determined that testimonies aren't "extraordinary" enough unless they've made the news. It sounds like you're the one seeking validation by putting others down.

Now I know about cute little things that God does from time to time.
But soon these problems that many in the world suffer is going to be right up in your face, if they already haven't.

I'll tell you this; I've learned whatever state I'm in (whether that's barely scraping by or living in abundance) therein to be content.

You try telling those testimonies to unbelievers "The government helped me, it was an act of God." and they'll look at you like you're crazy, and rightly so.I even think that's crazy!

Actually, I have shared that testimony with believers and unbelievers alike, and most of them were very encouraged and excited by it.

BTW, you're making it sound like the government gave me some cheese and milk and sent me on my way. Newsflash; the government isn't just handing out tens of thousands of dollars to anyone who asks for it or needs it.

Maybe you were the victim and that's why you needed that help from the government, maybe you were foolish with your money.

Probably a little bit of both. But that's what's so cool about it. God's Love was so great that regardless of how I got in the situation, He provided a way of escape.

Absolutely disgusting!

Indeed. Your posts are, as you put it, "absolutely disgusting". You say you're trying to motivate people to "live like Jesus", but I am totally convinced after reading all the nonsense you post here that you have absolutely no idea what that means. All you do is condemn people and belittle them. As Child of JC says, it speaks volumes of your heart condition that you feel the need to put others down and condemn them constantly.

Ohhh wow, a 33 year old learning how to be content in AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!
Awwww you poor thing, the horrors you must have faced.

- God I'm broke, can I have some money so me and my wife can have fun tonight?
- Well you shouldn't live like a fool.
- Yeah yeah yeah, whatever, how dare you judge me. Now can I have that money?
- What about the 24,000 people starving to death ever day EVERY DAY!!! Or the 1 billion without clean water to drink?? Don't you care about them? Aren't you being a little bit selfish?
-
*ROLLS EYES* Come on Dad, don't you think that if I cared about them I would actually being doing something about it instead of living a selfish life??? Now cough up the money old man!
- Ok, I'll ignore their prayers and give you what you want to have fun tonight. You don't deserve it, in fact you've been living like a selfish fool, but that's my grace in action. Aint I a cool God?
I take care of the mamby pamby and ignore those in need. I ROCK!
All that stuff I said in the bible about denying your flesh and helping those in need, well that's not for you. Obviously I want you to be selfish and foolish and I want them to suffer and die.
- Thanx Dad, you rock! Can you do me another favor and twist the governments arm to give me a bunch of cool new stuff for my house for free.
- Well it's not for free, the tax payer is paying for that.
-
Come on God you know I don't care! Why you tripping???
- You're right, what was I thinking. I should have known better, I am God after all. I be tripping sometimes.

That's NOT the Fathers Heart!!!!
and that's NOT Probinson's heart either!
The only heart left is in this equation is yours.

Listen if the Father wants you to help out with world poverty I'm sure He would give you a better plan than this. This does not have His finger print on it at all; it brings death not life. Sorry, but you're off here. You're not flowing in the Spirit of Jesus at all.

Before you go patting yourself on the back, you're not exactly blameless either.

Yeah and it's not in a drunks heart to kill someone while drinking and driving, but it happens.

If you knew just how bad the church is today, and how much they have indirectly killed people and ruined families and ruined lives with their selfish actions, you would be sounding like me.

But you don't care, you don't do anything, and you don't plan on it.
You defend it, you encourage it, and here you are trying to get some pats on the back for it.

Hello! This thread was created so we could testify about His Greatness in our lives. It was supposed to bring our attention to Him- you know the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? The Head of the Body? The Master of it all? The One worthy of our Praise? The Faithful One? The Great I AM?
Can we re-focus now?
