Psa 17:15 As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet communion with You]. AMP

Isn't it wonderful to wake up in the morning and turn our eyes to gaze at the Lord? He is so good to us.

Deu 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He drove the enemy before you and thrust them out, saying, Destroy!

When we go to sleep at night we can be assured that we are resting in the everlasting arms.

Psa 1:2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

We can delight in the Lord and the wonders of His Word and His sweet presence day and night.

Psa 74:16 The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have established the [starry] light and the sun.

Day and night we can praise the one who created it all.

Psa 91:5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

We need not fear what the enemy brings against us, the eternal God is our refuge. Day and night 24/7 we have that confidence.

What treat! To come here and find the Word of God and meditations on it. Thank you, Irene. :)

I came to bring some thoughts on Psalm 1, one of which you posted on too. :D

It's raining here this morning, and I find it positively delightful to sit at my front window and devour the Word as I watch the rain fall. It makes me think of how abiding in the shelter of the Most High protects me from all calamity on the outside. The world is collapsing under the Babylonian system, but here in God's kingdom, in which we are citizens of heaven, we are protected and doing very well. :) Let's pull the lost in out of the rain.

I'll be right back with scriptures for you, dear ones.

Psalm 1:1 BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. AMP

Nehemiah took very bold steps in acting on this. He definitely did not stand submissive and inactive in the path where sinners walk. Bear in mind he had the authority to do these things. I'm not saying we act inappropriately to those who are in the world. Look here at what Nehemiah did.

Nehemiah 13:6 But while all this was going on, I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I had returned to the king. Some time later I asked his permission 7 and came back to Jerusalem. Here I learned about the evil thing Eliashib had done in providing Tobiah a room in the courts of the house of God. 8 I was greatly displeased and threw all Tobiah’s household goods out of the room. 9 I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense. NIV 2010

Tobiah was the enemy! Think of it, Tobiah had been given a room in the temple of God. Here we need to stop and do a bit of introspection, a time when the Holy Spirit may be shining the spot light on a "room in our life" in which we've allowed the enemy to take up residence. If there's a thing on your heart that's coming up, maybe it is a habit you need to give up, or something you've put off doing, now is the time to throw the enemy out of your house!

Nehemiah also cleansed the temple, and stopped trafficking on the Sabbath in the temple. And then he did this.

23 Moreover, in those days I saw men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon and Moab. 24 Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod or the language of one of the other peoples, and did not know how to speak the language of Judah. 25 I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said: “You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. 26 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made27 him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women. Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?” 28 One of the sons of Joiada son of Eliashib the high priest was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite. And I drove him away from me. NIV 2010

I'm adding this scripture from Revelation because as I read it the Lord showed me doing all these things are good, the things we see the Psalmist talking about and what Nehemiah did. Here we see the church in Ephesus "doing the right things", but no love. What we do, we do because we love Him, because He first loved us.

Revelation 2:1 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. NIV 2010

I know I gave you a lot to read. To get the full measure out of what the Lord wants to do in our lives, we must SLOW DOWN and think on these things. If ANYTHING grabbed you in the above post I suggest you spend a little time camping here and pondering it. You may also want to get your Bible and study it out yourself, mark it up, write it in a notepad, and so on. It's the meditated Word that we carefully watch over and tend to that springs up into a harvest. To hurriedly read through scripture will give you the same in your harvest - a little. How we read it is a direct correlation to how much we value it.

Maybe the Lord has you meditating on something else, as Irene was. I recommend you take another step, and share it here with us, for every time your thoughts are riveted on that Word, it takes root deeper in your heart. Furthermore, you will bless us!

LOL I have to say - the scripture that grabs me is Psalm 1 - a reminder for me to get back into the word after a very busy Christmas break! It's like music to my ears and satisfaction like when you've eaten some yummy Christmas turkey with stuffing! Hallelujah! :D^_^ And gives the promise of good things to come Amen! :)

Everywhere you go at the beginning of the new year you'll hear wishes for a prosperous new year, whether it be from a Christian or not. If we really desire a prosperous new year, then we take God's Word. He desires that for us and tells us how to obtain it - Psalm 1.

3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper.

Busy as I am the Lord has me here. :) ^_^ Hope I'm hearing right!

Do you ever have people using words against you? Or how about the devil? He fires words at us all the time and they come to us in thought form. Here's a psalm that addresses that.

Psalm 64
1 O God, listen to my complaint.
Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
2 Hide me from the plots of this evil mob,
from this gang of wrongdoers.
3 They sharpen their tongues like swords
and aim their bitter words like arrows.
4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent,
attacking suddenly and fearlessly.
5 They encourage each other to do evil
and plan how to set their traps in secret.
“Who will ever notice?” they ask.
6 As they plot their crimes, they say,
“We have devised the perfect plan!”
Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.

Here it takes a turn, God turns things around. Oh, the justice of our Father who defends us!

7 But God himself will shoot them with his arrows,
suddenly striking them down.
8 Their own tongues will ruin them,
and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

Isn't that interesting how it is the words of our mouths that determine our fate? Jesus said by our words we'll be condemned, or justified.

9 Then everyone will be afraid;
they will proclaim the mighty acts of God
and realize all the amazing things he does.
10 The godly will rejoice in the Lord
and find shelter in him.
And those who do what is right
will praise him.

Praise the Lord!!!!!!
How we praise You, Lord! Hallelujah!

Good morning C! I've just listened to the first part of the latest service and really enjoyed it! I've saved it in my faves just in case I cannot get to my own church and need a top up! Praise God! Now we can share it together!:clap::clap:
Dec. 5's service was outstanding - the teaching was. Dec. 19 was particularly good too. :)
Dec. 5 gets better as it goes.

This is one of the weekly devotionals I've been getting from an Aussie Ministry 'Spirit Word' - just thought I'd share:

A Strange Happening...

Isaiah 28:21 "...He may do His work, His strange work, and bring to pass His act, His strange act."[AMP]

You can never put God in a box in any way, shape or form. Our verse tells us that God has a "work" and a "strange work"; He can bring to pass His "act" and His "strange act". When we look back through the bible and often in our own lives, it seems that the "strange act" and the "strange work" are the ones that have produced the key changes and the biggest fruit in our lives. For example we all know that God wants to prosper us - this is a "work" from God. But when it actually happens in our life it seems like a "strange work" because it happened in a way we could never have imagined.

Some of the circumstances that you may be going through at the moment could be part of a "strange work" of God in your life. God can be planning to bring forth a "strange act" in your future if you yield your will to Him. This week get prepared for a "strange work" and a "strange act" in your life. They are a very powerful, life changing events and are absolutely beyond what you could ever ask, think or imagine.

Who would ever want to opt for a conventional life outside of Christ? No Way!!!

This week do all you can to fulfill the natural parts of your life and let God put His "Super" on your "natural" and bring forth His supernatural results. Arrange your life to receive the strange (unique) act or work of God in your circumstances. Know that change is coming!!!

Intereseting what Kenneth Copeland said today..."whatever you compromise to keep, you will lose"

I am finally back in the perfect will of God...back at the on fire ministry He has called me to be in...as soon as I just made the decision to go back last week, even before I went there, I felt the power of God to the fullness, in this fullness I am able to say no to the compromise of trying to keep my wife by going to casinos with her trying to stay close to her or just keep the peace, I now see the only way for her to be completley delivered is to serve God to the fullness, no compromisw, and let Him do the rest!!

Thanks for all prayers and encouragement as I go thru the trial of all trials

Love of Jesus to all:groupray:
