I loved the movie!!

But without ruining it for anyone - i will say i had a difficult time NOT crying at the end...
Buggers.

Go see the movie... i liked it much better than the 2nd one.
Although it could be a tad scary for kids in certain parts - depending on the child's disposition because they have to go fight the dark evil...

My kids loved it, but my youngest is 10.
I hope they do one more.

My wife and I went to see it last night. I totally agree with your assessment. While the Aslan character is somewhat "messianic" in nature the character does endorse "real" faith, even if it would be a somewhat "universalist" endorsement for those without a basis in Christianity.

Go see it, take your kids, and talk about it after!:thumbsup: (two thumbs up as they say):D:D^_^^_^

Mark:)

BTW, take some atheist friends (either yours or your kids) with you; you may spark something!

Lewis meant for Aslan to be Christ.
Did you ever read about his friendship with Tolkien? ;)

Indeed he did, and was. Lewis was also a great Christian Apologist in his own rite.

I think his friendship with Tolkien was amusing. Here are two excellent writers who made analogous books on religion - who knew each other. I think it was awesome.

Altho - i am still trying to figure out Tolkien... near as i think i can tell the Elves are like angels - and immortal. [hence the Three rings]
The other rings still made me ponder... why ten?
Why one more?

I should look this up - but if anyone has cliff notes. ^_^

I think the dudes on black horses were either fallen or suffering souls.

Yes, Narnia makes it quite simple - great for kids.

I remember the first time i came to CF [many eons ago]
There was a woman who converted [from atheism] because of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings book. I forget her name now, and what Christian sect she was a part of - but i found it fascinating.

Sure, if your imagination's broke.
Yup - i am a broken wing... will be for life, i suspect.
But thats just me... very little time for novel reading - 4 kids - lots to do [taxi mom] - work - so i like fast - nothing faster than a movie. ^_^

I wont give anything away though. :D

I loved the book, and thoroughly enjoyed the movie when we saw it 2 weeks ago.

I did think they should have done more with showing how Eustace became the dragon. The book did alot more with that subject and it was a very meaningful chapter to me.
I loved how it was a mystery in the movie. :) Suspenseful.
