Pray for me in this time of change

I've just recently been finding out who I am in Christ. My whole life has been devoted to everything that opposes God and I have been over burdened with guilt and fear for the past years of my life. My christian therapist has been able to show me the gifts and traits that God has givin me but chose to ignore. For the first time in my life Im beginning to see the reality behind a relationship with Christ.

This transformation is difficult because it is in total confliction with the life I have chosen to build for myslef. Please pray that God helps give me the courage and strength which I need to make the proper changes in my life. I have really been struggling with my faith. Having one foot in the world and one foot in Christ is eating away at my very soul and the prayers of others would be a great blessing.

Im glad to be a part of this forum and God bless..!! :D

Give it all to Jesus, Snowdrift, He loves you so much. Many here will pray for you, so expect to receive a blessing.:hug:

Remember the words of this great hymn:

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

And, the story of the lady who wrote the hymn:

"Miss Charlotte Elliott was visiting some friends in the West End of London, and there met the eminent minister, Cesar Malan. While seated at supper, the minister said he hoped that she was a Christian. She took offense at this, and replied that she would rather not discuss that question. Dr. Malan said that he was sorry if had offended her, that he always liked to speak a word for his Master, and that he hoped that the young lady would some day become a worker for Christ. When they met again at the home of a mutual friend, three weeks later, Miss Elliott told the minister that ever since he had spoken to her she had been trying to find her Saviour, and that she now wished him to tell her how to come to Christ. “Just come to him as you are,” Dr. Malan said. This she did, and went away rejoicing. Shortly afterward she wrote this hymn."

I will pray for you that God gives you the courage and the strength you need to follow Him with your whole heart.  Any time you feel that you are getting weak or struggling, He is right there to help you.  Keep your eyes on the Lord and seek to please Him in all you do and you won't go wrong.

Romans 8 says, There is therefore now no condemantion to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but afer the Spirit. Jesus will NEVER make you fill guilt. Snowdrift,

You can only imagine how Paul felt when God called him. Paul was a murderer and presecuted the Jews.. then God called him to Preach the Gospel.
Yes.. turning your life over to God is tough.. But Let him be in Control. God will guide you if you let him.

We will be Praying for your transition.

:pray:

Praise God though that you are able to see your need for him in your life and that you desire to make this transition. Sometimes that is half of the battle. I think though the more you learn and grow in your faith, the more your desires of this world will cease. You will desire God's will and he will give you the strength to put aside what isn't is will. It may not always be easy, but rest in the promise that he is always with us and when temptation presents itself, he gives us the strength to resist.

Snowdrift, I will keep you in my prayers. Change is never easy, even for the best of us, and even Christians who have been "dyed in the wool" for a long period of time can find it hard dealing with ourselves at times.

I've been in the same situation as you, but I had been a Christian for many years! It can be very difficult, and hurt. However, when it is over, the grass is greener, and the sky is bluer, and the good Lord does shine down on you. So, uphold your pain and suffering to the Lord, and I will uphold you to the Lord.

Cheers and God Bless!
