• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I'm an MK and I have been self harming for two years now and need help fast. I haven't broken skin for a few months but is almost did yesterday. What should I do, I can't tell my mum or my dad cause they tell me I'm making a fuss out out of nothing. What do I do no one wants to talk about it and those who do I don't trust.
help!

HUGS. Im sorry you dont have anyone you can talk to there. I know what that feels like and it aint great. There is alot of good people here you can talk to and would want to listen to you and try to help. Have you tried any distraction techniques. Like a rubber band on your wrist when you feel the need pop it and it will cause a pain but not hurt you. Or try to hold ice when you have the urges. There is a whole list of things you can try and its on top of the main page in the stickys that you might find helpful. Im here for you if you ever need to talk just message me on my visitor page. Much Love and Many Hugs

I'm sorry you feel so alone in it, sweetie.
Is there a school counselor or teacher you trust, or someone at church? I know it can be hard to talk to your parents.
If you need an ear, please PM me or leave me a visitor message and I'll be glad to listen - I do know what it's like to be afraid to talk about it.

Talk to God. Pray, pray, pray. I know it sounds old, worn-out, generic...but He's the only strength I have to get me through times when I am tempted to hurt or kill myself, and it's been just over 6 months since I've hurt myself. That includes some rough times during those months.
If you need to cry, cry while you pray. If you need to scream, scream at God. Pour out every feeling in your heart with complete honesty (He knows it all already and wants you to lay it down before Him). I've been going through awful torture lately. Last night I was sobbing and shaking and I was MAD, I mean like awful hot rage all through my body. And I knew that the Lord was there in front of me even though I couldn't see Him with my eyes, so I looked straight at Him, with tears rolling down my cheeks and my body nearly splitting in two, I told Him how intensely angry I was. And I told Him that I love Him, and asked him not to leave me. I could feel the comfort of Jesus wrapping His arms around me. It is so good to pour your heart out to God. Often we look for solutions in the people around us, in our own strength, in whatever escape we can find, in anything at all...and forget to look directly at the only One who can truly help us. If you let the truth flow from your lips to the ears of God, He will hear. God is love. Find peace in Him.

I have a way of making a friendly ban of myself from the site (you can stay seated guys). 22 posts is enough for me.

Anyway, just wanted to say I SI too, and my body is littered with scars, hidden though. Upper arm, thigh etc.

All healed.

Crying can be healing often. I agree.

Before cursing God etc., remember that someone out there is or was far worse off than you, yet also kind.

When there's nothing left, believe in miracles, because only Good is pure.
