A friend of mine sent out a prayer request through email last night. Her dog had run off and it still had it's leash attached. This morning she sent out another email Praising God for the fact that they had found her dog, and explaining how it all took place.
The dogs leash had become tangled in barbed wire near some bushes. They had searched and passed by the dog six times without seeing it. It was on the seventh attempt that they found him, and it wasn't until after dark that they did. They found Him because the light of a flashlight caught his eyes and his eyes gave off a glow from the light.
I found it interesting that they had found him on the seventh attempt. And couldn't help but notice how we can sometimes run from God, or simply go astray. When we do go astray we get tangled up in the ways of the world, and end up in darkness. But God has a way of calling us back. He places others around us who have the light of Christ within them. That light shines through the darkness around us, and catches our eyes in order to draw us home.
It seems that sometimes it takes a bit of darkness before you can see the light.
