Greetings Darren and Ted!

Let's not only start with God's Word, let's end with God's Word.
Faith is what God asks of us and faith is what we need to demonstrate in all facets of our lives, including any debate of Creation Science vs. the theory of evolution.
Wasn't there an old song that says, "Trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey."?
Or is that far too old fashioned?

I think people come up with these theories because they don't want to try or don't feel good about God's word, it makes them uncomfortable and they would rather look at some other explanation which in the end they can't be sure of... they will run in circles, unfortunately. One thing you can be sure of is God's Word. It can't be proven wrong, I've never seen a documentary on the bible being false.

Hi John,

Let me ask you a question if I may. We have two different gods. They both claim to be omniscient and omnipotent. One takes 2 billion years to 'paint' the universe; the other does all the same work in 4 days. Both are perfect in their completion.

Which God is greater?

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted.

We don't have 2 Gods. We have one.
The universe wasn't created in 4 days. It has taken a few billion years to form.
Each of YOUR days is NOT 24 hours. Each day is an era of a few hundred million years or so.
I know that you want to dispute this but this is my response to you. You have absolutely no way of knowing whether I'm wrong. All of the scientific proof points to the fact that the era of the dinosaurs lasted several hundred million years. The era of humans has, so far, lasted about 2 million years.

I also tend to believe that the story of Atlantis might actually be true. The sinking of Atlantis may have been the result of their evil ways that led to the story of Noah's Ark.
You might think that my beliefs are weird but believing that the universe was created in 144 Earthly hours, in my opinion, is also weird. Let's not forget that a day (which may also have been translated incorrectly), can be MUCH longer for God than it is for us.

I stick with the Bible and with science. Since God is the Creator, scientific observation points to Him.

We know the earth is millions of years old because scientific observation.

We also know that the first chapter of Genesis allows for the each "day" to be an "age".

Science and the Bible cannot contradict each other. If there is an apparent contradiction, then there is a problem with our understanding of the Bible, scientific data, or both.

Hi John,

You obviously missed the point. I asked you to consider that there were two gods, one being the one that you believe in and the other being the one that I believe in. Your god took 2 billion years to 'paint' the universe. Mine did all the same thing in 4 days. Which god is the greater god?

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted.

Do you think that if someone holds a different opinion than yours on this topic, that he/she is worshipping a false god?

You sir are dumb.

The hebrew word used to describe creation is yom.

Which means days, or an unspecified long length of time.

I admire your faith. However i despise your ignorance.

In love! =]

Well since you feel so strongly about this give me one scientific piece of evidence that proves the earth is billions of years old. Im pretty sure i can dissprove anything you throw at me.

As for what i believe, i think the earth was created in 7 days as it is stated in the bible. So please post a scientific evidence that says that the earth is billions of years old.

I'm not the least bit interested in throwing "data" back and forth in an attempt to "prove" or "disprove" any particular opinion.

I'm interested in intelligent, civil discourse as one medium for growing in knowledge of Christ.

Ok but in your previous post you said that its a combination of science and belief in the bible and having faith in god. So you just told me about the faith part but also in your previous post you said that you believe the earth is billions of years old. And if you are not interested in throwing "data" around to prove any particular opinion then you are basing your whole belief of how the earth was created on wild guessing. But really i want to know some facts on why you think the world is billions of years old.

Hi John

Well, then why don't you answer the question. Because between you and I there are two gods. You believe in a God who took 2 billion years to paint the universe. My God did it in 4 days. The same God did not do both. That is a contradiction. Both positions cannot be true. It would be two different gods.

So, I'll ask again. Which god is greater? I fully understand and comprehend your position as you have made it clear in every post that you have made. The question of the hypothetical still stands. Are you brave enough to answer?

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted.

Selected hypocrite,

If my believing that God created this entire realm of creation in which we live in, in 6 literal days makes me dumb, then I proudly wear that mantle. I am dumb. I am totally stupid in the wisdom of the world.

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted.

If you want to continue to believe that a day is LITERALLY 24 hours, there's nothing that I can do. To God, a day is the same as a billion years.

Also, a scientific theory is in fact a hypothesis that has been tried and tried again and proven true. Saying "it's just a theory" is complete ignorance of the scientific method.

Just because you disagree doesn't mean that he has a "different god." It just means his understanding of how God created is different than yours.

You could be wrong, he could be wrong, or you could both be wrong.
