The problem isn't Muslims don't want a Muslim nation. The problem is that there is so much dissidence and turmoil within the Ummah, and Muslim leaders can't agree on anything. Imagine the United States or the UK trying to establish a Christian nation, but there's constant disagreement between Protestants and Catholics and the other denominations within Christianity.
The UK is a Christian nation, officially Anglican.

The UK is a Christian nation is name but not in deed, whilst the US is a de facto Christian nation in deed but not in name.

Funny old world.

Yusuf Evans,
Tell me again how that little quarrel was going with the Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland? It is part of the UK after all.

Much like the bombs going off all over the world in the name of Islam. The notion of a Christian country is somewhat tricky, it would have to revolve around a majority of laws being based on Christ's teaching. However the world is not the Kingdom of God and Christians are to witness in the world the Kingdom of God but not expect everyone to accept Jesus Christ, so the Christian notion cannot expect a Christian country in the same way the Islamic notion of submitting peoples to the will of Allah does. The former is concerned with the souls of people, the latter is geographical. These two differences were demonstarted by Jesus Christ and His disciples in the NT and Mohammed in Islamic history as Mohammed and his followers organised military campaigns to submit the peoples of the Arabian peninsular.
