We also have bears...they have taken down bird houses and feeders, and even broke into a neighbor's house a few years back.
So now we just feed the birds in the winter; December to mid March only.
Our little pup cannot stay outside alone because of the large raptors, coyotes, foxes, bears etc.

Have a nice week everyone

Your home sounds beautiful, but I wouldn't have a clue how to deal with a bear in the yard. We have two very curious little dogs that would probably get eaten. This brings up a funny incident night before last. My little Hank came nose to nose with a toad and decided to give it a kiss. Let's just say that the toad squirted something that sent Hank running, snorting, and shaking his head. The toad won, but I will have to say that the toad has left the premises. :D

We live in the city and don't have bears (thankfully!:o), but we do see other wildlife you wouldn't expect in the city from time to time like bobcats, raccoons, etc. Some of the more outlying suburbs have had a problem with coyotes and protecting pets from them.

This suspension bridge is about 3 blocks from where we use to live but you get an idea about the size of the trees from this picture.

Beautiful! Nearly all of our trees where we live are a much smaller variety. Most of our land is also fairly flat plains with the exception of our mountain range, the Wichita Mountains and Wildlife Refuge. It's a different kind of pretty, but I like it. Hollywood used to come here to film western movies.

Well it is kind of my fault as I started leaving garbage out again as I thought that all the bears had been rounded up. Mostly we just ignore each other. But I have to say that they did shoot the other bear in July as it was becoming dangerous. The skunks I don't mess with either although my dog a few years ago got squirted in our back yard. We had to come up with the antidote smell deodorizer quick. Thank heaven for the internet. It worked like a charm.

that is one scary bridge.
I am actually fine on it now but the first few times over on it I was freaking out. Especially as there were yahoos making it rock. It is actually very secure and not that long and over a lovely Creek. A pretty large one though called Lynn Creek. We have another bridge over The Capilano River that is longer but it is wider and not as much fun and it costs money to go on it. This one is free.

Never watched X Files, but that looks like a beautiful area!
It is, but it gets very mysterious looking in the winter with all the misty rain that falls here. We are a rain forest after all. Hope everyone is having a great day. It started out rainy here but the sun is out and it is a very nice 70 Degrees.

Good morning, all! Well, we attended Bryan's memorial service yesterday. It was a beautiful service. It's easy to eulogize someone like him. He finished his race strong.

Thanks for sharing with us. I'm happy to hear about his beautiful service and hope it will help to comfort his family. They will remain in my prayers.
