New age and other theology

Best to stick to the Jesus in the Bible imo....don't confuse yourself with other spiritualities. Not that there's necessarilly anything wrong with reading about other things (so maybe you get an understanding where others are coming from). But be caeful not to be led astray.

Jesus is even in the Koran (as well as Mary and Joseph and a few other people in the bible. Everyone seems to have their own view of Jesus. When looking at Christianity do not stray from the bible. For example, for the Mormons, the bible is not enough, they have the Book of Mormon. It leads to confusion.

Here's the scoop on C. Myss. I studied her work extensively before I was saved. She is a well-meaning but very MISGUIDED, LOST soul. She does not know Jesus, though she was raised in a convent, which gave her just enough ability to toss around and twist around scriptures to cause, as you noted, confusion. But somehow, in spite of the environment, she never came to know the Lord. She mixes scripture with eastern mystical ideas, hinduism, astrology, the whole unholy nine yards. But here's the thing, she's a gifted speaker. She is good with words and very sincere about what she believes even though she is wrong in her beliefs. So she presents her points well and convincingly. Sadly, she is the literally the blind leading the blind. You and I don't have to follow the blind leaders, but the problem comes when we are in a vulnerable place in our minds or emotions or even just physically tired. If we are exposed to these attractive lies (and lets face it, the new age has an attractive quality that says everything can be rosy if you just clear your chakras enough, chant the right words or connect with the right spirit guide. It promises a perfection that can't be delivered, but our flesh wants it.) when we are vulnerable, they can slip in under our skin and cause confusion and even misery.

My advice, from someone who knows first hand: Say a prayer for Caroline Myss and toss all her materials into the nearest dumpster. Having it in your house is truly like saying to the enemy, "Come on over. We'll have tea and you can play on all my weaknesses, rub arsenic in my wounds and steal my peace." Ditch the stuff, grab your Bible and call a mature Christian friend.

Why. What are you looking for?

Seems like a waste of time, unless it is in your heart to try and figure where God may be in these things to talk to people lost in them.

Everybody seems to want to be spiritual without actually having love. Mystical and make miracles without actually disturbing their complacent life with ugly realities of such things as love that brings them into subjection with freedom.


People look for miracles and magic to get what they want without asking themselves what they want in the first place.


Put it all down on paper like Solomon did.

The inevitable conclusion is everyone is going to die so that makes everything else meaningless.

What one should do after that is ask, "Why should I have to die". Go down into the grave waving a white flag because you have nothing to live for.


So the gospels are focused on eternal life, whereas most of these things tend to be focused on throwing out a bunch of smoke and mirrors promising answers to one's questioning soul... but never really giving any because the one thing any soul really wants is eternal life.


Good thing to start admitting, though this focus seems to never come into play until all the chips are down.

Christianity is the only true religion as believers constantly pray, worship by singing songs and reading the Word that reveals in their hearts the true living Jesus Christ who died for our sins so that we can be saved and continue to live by faith in heaven .:*:. Testimonials of born-again Christians who have turned their lives around - from drug addiction to Satan worshipping - know that the bible is the truth and the only way to salvation through Jesus who is our healer and partner for life forever .:*:. Miraculous healing of the holy spirit flowing from heaven through the hands of praying Christians in churches or home group meetings through prayer each week, have brought tremendous peace and joy to the healed .:*:. Television is a powerful medium that can block people from knowing Christ and it is our duty as Christians to smash all barriers of sinful confusion by telling the truth that the real Jesus is here and ready for anyone to receive him, especially sports and movies where celebrities are worshipped as god-like idols where God is not needed .:*:.

I don't know about New Age stuff other than I like Enya's and Yanni's music and I know this one lady who supposedly used a crystal to heal someone who was in the hospital.

The New Age and other religions sometimes use christian terminology that sounds like they agree with Christians but they mean something completely different! That is why we have to be careful with what we read and compare it to the Bible.

I was tired when I posted last night and failed to mention that I was not only a new age follower but I was a new age leader, teacher and "healer." Here's the scoop with new age "healing." Each case differs but is generally one of three things: the person is not healed but may have a psychosomatic temporary relief of symptoms because they so desperately want it to work; or, because satan authored the disease state, he stops the illness he created in order to promote the idea that new age healing works; or the sick person does not feel better at all and then believes, often because the "healer" tells sick person so, that they are at fault, that they thought the wrong thing, did the wrong thing, didn't do enough of the right thing, or didn't believe well enough, leaving them feeling like a hopeless piece of garbage failure, a thought pattern that deteriorates their physiology even more, and makes them feel even more like a failure...

See how dark and negative it all is, yet sugar coated, and deceptively attractive to someone in pain or in need? The new age, often unknowingly, but nonetheless, preys on needy people. The practitioners themselves, most anyway, think they are helping. Satan dressed as an angel of light.
