Amos 5:21
I hate, I despise your feast days. And I do not savour your sacred assemblies.

Amos 5:22
22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them.

But let justice flow like a river, and let goodness flow like a never-ending stream.

"People of Israel, you did not bring me sacrifices and offerings while you traveled in the desert for forty years.

You have carried with you your king, the god Sakkuth, and Kaiwan your idol, and the star gods you have made.

Amos 6:1 (NCV)

How terrible it will be for those who have an easy life in Jerusalem, for those who feel safe living on Mount Samaria. You think you are the important people of the best nation in the world; the Israelites come to you for help.

Amos 6:3 (KJV) Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

Amos 6:4 (KJV) That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

Amos 6:5 (KJV) That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;

Amos 6:6 (KJV) That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

Amos 6:7 (KJV) Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.

Amos 6:8 The Sovereign LORD has sworn by himself—the LORD God Almighty declares:
"I abhor the pride of Jacob
and detest his fortresses;
I will deliver up the city
and everything in it."

Amos 6:9 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.

Amos 6:10 (KJV) And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

Amos 6:11 (KJV) For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.

Amos 6:12 (KJV) Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:

you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say "Have we not by our own strength captured Karnaim for ourselves?"
