Isaiah 40:1-11
comfort through trust in the Lord

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto
her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her
iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of
the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in
the desert a highway for our God. *

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain
and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall
be made straight, and the rough places plain:

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and
all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth
of the LORD hath spoken it.

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I
cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness
thereof is as the flower of the field:

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because
the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely
the people is grass.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the
word of our God shall stand for ever.

O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up
into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring-
est good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength;
lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of
Judah, Behold your God!

Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand,
and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his re-
ward is with him, and his work before him. *

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall
gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in
his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are
with young. *

Isaiah 41:17-20
final restoration of Israel

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is
none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the
LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not
forsake them.

I will open rivers in high places, and foun-
tains in the midst of the valleys: I will make
the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land
springs of water.

I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shi*tah
tree, and the myrtle, and the iol tree; I will set in
the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree
together.

I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the
pine,and the box tree together:
That they may see, and know, and consider, and
understand together, that the hand of the LORD
hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath
created it.

Isaiah 42:14-16
the servant comes to glorify the Lord

Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift
up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth
inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing,
let them shout from the top of the mountains.
Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare
his praise in the islands.

I have long time holden my peace; I have been
still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like
a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at
once.

I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry
up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers
islands, and I will dry up the pools.

And I will bring the blind by a way that they
knew not; I will lead them in paths that they
have not known: I will make darkness light be-
fore them, and crooked things straight. These
things will I do unto them, and not forsake
them.

Isaiah 43:14-21
the Lord the only Redeemer

Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One
of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon,
and have brought down all their nobles, and the
Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Is-
rael, your King.

Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the
sea,and a path in the mighty waters;

Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the
army and the power; they shall lie down together,
they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are
quenched as tow.

Remember ye not the former things, neither con-
sider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall
spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even
make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the
desert.

The beast of the field shall honour me, the dra-
gons and the owls: because I give waters in the
wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give
drink to my people, my chosen.
This people have I formed for myself; they shall
shew forth my praise.

Isaiah 48:20,21
Israel's unfaith rebuked

Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the
Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye,
tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth;
say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

And they thirsted not when he led them through
the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of
the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and
the waters gushed out.

There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.

Isaiah 49:8-13
Israel will be restored to Zion

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have
I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I
helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give
thee for a covenant of the people, to establish
the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate her-
itages;

That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth;
to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves.
They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures
shall be in all high places.

They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall
the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath
mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs
of water shall he guide them.

And I will make all my mountains a way, and my
highways shall be exalted.

Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these
from the north and from the west; and these from
the land of Sinim.

Sing, O heavens;and be joyful O earth; and break
forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath
comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his
afflicted.

Isaiah 51:9-11
the faithful are called to courage

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD;
awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations
of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and
wounded the dragon?

Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the
waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths
of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return,
and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting
joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain
gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall
flee away.

Isaiah 55:12-13
a free offer of mercy for all

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth
with peace: the mountains and the hills shall
break forth before you into singing, and all the
trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree,
and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle
tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

John 14:6
Jesus is the Way

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.

May the Holy Spirit lead, guide, and direct ... may ears and eyes be open ... in Jesus perfect name ... Amen.

A few of you know I've been struggling hard with some issues. I set my mind to know what taking on Jesus yoke means ... and just how do we have that peace he promises us.

mssurrendered gave me a verse several months ago from the Lord that started the journey 'over the Way' ...

Isaiah 40:3
comfort through trust in the Lord

The voice of him that crieth in the wild-
erness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
make straight in the desert a highway
for our God.

I knew it was from the Lord because I was knee deep in a study that had me on that exact verse ... in a short day or so came many references to that verse ... including an old movie on tv I happened to see about the blazing of the nacific northwest trail ... that's the verse the main character stood on ...

time went on and I wasn't real sure how to apply it other than I was on the right track.

Here in the last couple weeks when the enemy came at me with a blast I'll remember for all of my earthbound days, ms gave me another vere. I struggled and struggled with it til it dang near made me crazy. I knew with all my being it was meant for me ... I just couldn't 'see' what I was supposed to be seeing. I asked the Lord for the old path's ... I studied the verse ... everything ... and then landed with the verse ms gave me in a rep right behind the other verse ... Proverbs 3:5 ... 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding' ...

Jeremiah 6:16
the destruction of Judah

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the
ways, and see, and ask for the old paths,
where is the good way, and walk therein,
and ye shall find rest for your souls. But
they said, We will not hearken.

Last sunday morning I was sitting here looking at our forum and the thread I started about how to take on the yoke and knew with all my heart the answer for me wasn't in that thread. I felt just intense despair ... then I just laid my head down on my desk and said to the Lord that I just truly quit ... I'd said it a few days before, then felt to try one more time ... this time I was just done ... I had no idea in the world how to have the peace that comes with the trial through Christ. I don't know how many times I've trusted Him ... this time that's the only thing it was about ... trusting Him ... not in this situation or that situation ... but in all situations ...

it wasn't maybe several minutes after I laid my head down and said I surrender ... and by that I meant QUIT ... I totally didn't have any understanding to lean on ... that had to come from the Lord and I knew it ... and asked for the understanding ...

well, several minutes later this is what He gave me ... 'the Way over' ... I could go back and hi-lite the parts that spoke to me specifically ... but that isn't what this thread is about ... enough about me ...

what I know is with everything in my heart the answer to other's way out is in these vereses ...

there's one more part I'm going to post in the next post ... byhisstripes gave it to me in a pm after one huge blast from the enemy ... but before the other one ... I couldn't apply it until at the very end of the answer the Lord gave me in the scriptures I posted ... I understood exactly what he meant about every scripture he gave me and how to apply it ... but the one thing that was missing was how not to worry about my grandchildren ... the last question i had for the Lord was what about them ... how do i not worry ... He reminded me of what He gave me through byhisstripes ...

God bless

well, here it is ... this is the song byhisstripes gave me from the Lord ... as soon as He reminded me of it ... I was and have been a t peace since ... I like this version ... the part about the children was the closing answer that opened the door to peace ... God is so good!!! I can never have the words to praise Him enough ... I am so thankful and grateful He gave me people I can trust ... even when i don't understand and it feels like it hurts ... this peace overrides anything I had to go through to obtain it ... thank You, Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit ... You are my all!

Psalm 25:8-10
a prayer for guidance and protection

Good and upright is the Lord:
therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
The meek will he guide in judgement:
and the meek will he teach his way.
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and
truth
unto such as keep his covenant and his
testimonies.

Psalm 31:3,4,5
in Thee, O Lord do I put my trust

For thou art my rock and my fortress;
therefore for thy name's sake lead me,
and guide me.
Pull me out of the net that they have laid
privily for me:
for thou art my strength.
Into thine hand I commit my spirit:
thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of
truth.
