Right now God is doing a great movement in Japan, reaching through into the heart of Japan through it's youth, who are becoming very rebellious and troubled. I find it hard ot take on that atttiude, since God wants all to be saved and that none should perish, and that includes Japan too of course. Looking back at the artists I liked and still do like in a way, I don't think it's really silly or pointless to pray for them at all because, being that there icons, they can influence people for good, and for God. When celebrities advertise things, or people realize what they are involved, they tend to take wing and become a part of that too. So, if we pray for them to come to God, and fans see this, some of those fans will stop and think, or follow suite even. It's a *good* influence.
I read a lot about a Japan, and about social problems and such. It is true, most of them do not believe in anything. But God wants them to be saved too. I think it's really important.
(Sorry, I hope this doesn't sound like a lecture. I just wanted to show how it might seem important, and worthwhile!).
When i see celebrities, American or Japanese or otherwise, I think to myself that they must be very lonely. In truth, they prolly do not have anyone praying for them at all. I couldn't imagine not having anyone praying for me, and reading the Bible has shown that like Noah, and Moses, and David, and then Jesus, one man can make all the difference to God and people. That celebrity prolly has no one praying for him, being surrounded by people who do not even know God is there. If I found out that my prayers helped to bring that person to the Lord, I would feel very happy.
I may have enjoyed their music before I followed Jesus, and I may even still like their music, but their souls are so much more important than their music.
Well, that's why I think it is important. =)
