Sadly though, the rules of his previously defined existence have somehow been broken and he is left to make sense of a world that has him trapped in a system of lies.

What the root of this delusion and affliction is no-one can be sure.
All of our best guesses point towards chemical imbalances in the brain that lead to it functioning in a different manner and although people may say that the voices and mumblings heard through walls and in our minds are self-conjured and non-existent I myself am not so certain of this...

to whit, it is my sure and certain belief that the man is under an intense and direct spiritual attack. The affliction will be an amalgamation of many different things, part truths and part lies in many different senses of all of the following factors:-

He will have had one or more stressful incidents in his life that have caused him great pain. This may have caused resentment, self loathing, anger, confusion, hatred and/or fear or any combination of the above.

Before the affliction began he will have been a man of great intellect and care. Emotionally responsive and caring and close to realising the truth of his divinity.

He has no surety of his reality left anymore. An event will have occured that has made him realise that (rightly or wrongly) what we accept as the normal rules of reality and the certainty of the fundamentality of these rules, has been broken. {And let me tell you now that this immediately returns us to a state of childish inquisition, everything is to be retried, retested, re-analysed and re-evaluated. nothing is more important to a person in this state than this quest of regaining a safe ground from which we understand the borders and boundaries of our reality}.

If you can track this event, this one event that first made him come to the conclusion that the "Old" rules were somehow wrong you will be able to much more quickly be able to approach how this man has been attacked.

This is the first step that is used to lead a man away from the path of righteousness and down to the depths of the pit when the attack comes in this fashion. From that moment on and possibly for a long time before he HAS BEEN SCRUTINISED by a malevolant and intelligent observer or many observers.
I'm not yet sure what these beings are, wether they be angels, spirits of the dead, demons or other agencies or mixture of agency they are there and they have done this many times before and will do it many times again to him and others.
They hide in the shadows of our disbelief and ignorance and are safe there.

HOWEVER, they will have designed scenarios and events to occur to this poor man knowing very well that it will make him delusional but they will never have revealed themselves for what they truly are, only what they chose to masquerade themselves as to gain control of him and design a juxtoposition of reality against the truths {LIES AND PART LIES!!} of the reality he has now discovered. Remember, he is on a quest for the truth of his reality and these agencies are perfectly poised to feed him any experience or part experience or word that will make him use his powers of logic on this certain mis-information and cause him to lose contact with this reality we are sure of to one of possibilites beyond imagining to a reality system which can be used to guide him away from the love and protection of his friends, family and society and will be further used to guide him to further hatred, confusion and sin [where sin is understood merely to be that which takes us away from the prescence of God].
Furthermore, society has been pre-conditioned to term people suffering this tremendous spiritual attack as 'skitzo': People to be feared and isolated.
This has not happened by chance and gives his attackers, who-ever or whatever they be, a greater freedom to destroy him utterly, alone and completely mis-understood.

I implore you deeply and most sincerely and with all the love and forgivesness I can send your way, for the sake of love, HELP THIS MAN.
I have no idea how far they have ripped him away from you all or how certain he is but he is being manipulated to his own detriment and it is NO FAULT of his own.

There are many solutions to this problem of varying degrees of success for whatever your personal and his personal goals are.
The first is to simply medicate the problem. He will be completely unable to digest any of the information supplied here, and whatever you do, DO NOT pretend to hear the voices or give them an existence yet. This could be disastrous to him. He needs to be brought firstly back to the reality we all live in and share and this is best achieved via the correct medication.
The 'correct' medication for this delusional state is often different for different people and many people will react with varying degrees of success and also display varying depths of nasty side effects from these medications. It could well be a process of years of working with a psychiatrist to find the correct medication to shield this man from his attackers so that he has time to return to you. Can be a process of months to years to achieve a stable, medicated state, that will allow him to return slowly and surely to reality and re-learn the rules of his existence and forget the lies he has been fed.

This is usually the first and last step as most people deem that the problem is solved. The subject no longer hallucinates and can function reasonably well, albeit stigmatised and avoided, by society.
In my honest opinion that couldn't be further from the truth because the medication will no doubt bring with it an emotional and intellectual detachment that will impede him and the process of his faith for a long time, if not the rest of his life.

Please, help this man. He will need the help of the medical services, he will need the help and support of his congregation, he will need the help and support of his family and friends and he will need a lot of your patience and understanding but then, what could be a more worthy way to spend your time than to help shield him and guide him back?

This, at this stage of the game is the most important thing to achieve.
But let yourselves not be blinded to any of the possibilities of whats happening to this man.
My opinion is merely that, an opinion, however well informed I believe it to be.
Remember also, that the pychiatrists point of view is merely a point of view, quite probably a cynical, realist point of view that will deny all of what I have said above. He may be right but I sincerely doubt it.

I charge YOU, guide him back from the fearful land he is in with gentle care and please, do not judge, stigmatise or label him. I pray for your success and I pray for the Lord, our God, to help him.

1. Delusions - false beliefs strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness: for example,
   1. Paranoid delusions, or delusions of persecution, for example believing that people are "out to get" you, or the thought that people are doing things when there is no external evidence that such things are taking place.
   2. Delusions of reference - when things in the environment seem to be directly related to you even though they are not. For example it may seem as if people are talking about you or special personal messages are being communicated to you through the TV, radio, or other media.
   3. Somatic Delusions are false beliefs about your body - for example that a terrible physical illness exists or that something foreign is inside or passing through your body.
   4. Delusions of grandeur - for example when you believe that you are very special or have special powers or abilities. An example of a grandiouse delusion is thinking you are a famous rock star.

   Affective flattening is the reduction in the range and intensity of emotional expression, including facial expression, voice tone, eye contact (person seems to stare, doesn't maintain eye contact in a normal process), and is not able to interpret body language nor use appropriate body language.
   Avolition is the reduction, difficulty, or inability to initiate and persist in goal-directed behavior; it is often mistaken for apparent disinterest. (examples of avolition include: no longer interested in going out and meeting with friends, no longer interested in activities that the person used to show enthusiasm for, no longer interested in much of anything, sitting in the house for many hours a day doing nothing.)
   
   A short summary of a list of negative symptoms are:
   
   1. lack of emotion - the inability to enjoy regular activities (visiting with friends, etc.) as much as before
   2. Low energy - the person tends to sit around and sleep much more than normal
   3. lack of interest in life, low motivation
   4. Affective flattening - a blank, blunted facial expression or less lively facial movements, flat voice (lack of normal intonations and variance) or physical movements.

This is the story:

He went to China 'normal' to teach Tefl and came back totally dillusional after 1yr. He seems to believe that he was hypnotized there, and that he was made to believe that everything around him was daily life but in actual fact, a 'reality movie' was made of him. He is convinced that the bank of china owes him a large sum of money and is convinced that we, his family were there in China and were all part of this 'plot' as he supposedly saw us there. (WHICH WE WERENT and know nothing of this so called incident).
He believes people were using 'phrases, colours, numbers to communicate with him or make him believe certain things'.
While in his hotel room, he once suspected people were outside trying to film him so he typed a command on his laptop ("Leave me alone, I know what you are up to") and apparently the people left. This is all very confusing for me as I am not familiar with this illness so please excuse my ignorance. Even when he returned to home, he was convinced that certain road signs meant something different to what they actully stood for and that it was all part of the 'film'.
At the moment he has no job, no pension and is living with another family member who has refused to listen to his China stories.

What do you think of all of this. The sad part of it is he used to be a Pastor but back slid 180 degrees. Before he got saved and went to Bible School, he was into all sorts of Eastern Religions. Could this have 'opened doors'?
