Probaby fewer than the number of Israalites He killed at Mt. Sinai, Korah's rebellion, & fewer than the number of Israelites He let get killed in the Promised Land wars or that He let get dragged off into captivity & slavery, not to mention all the victims of Israel's civil war before He finaly let it get destroyed in 70 AD for about 2 thousand years.
But maybe you're right. Maybe children aren't so special to Him. After all, He did have His own crucified.

Jesus said that those who live by the sword will die by the sword, so i wouldn't suggest killing to survive, no, and furthmore, this is what revelation 13:10 says: If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

First off, post the whole verse so as not to pick it apart...
Matthew 5:39 (King James Version)
39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
"Turning the other cheek" and throwing your wife and kids to the dogs are two totally different things.

ok so what makes your family worth more than someone's life? all persons are valuable, you can't give persons a value based on the quantity of them or the quality of them, or are you given that authority?

I would shoot someone who broke into my house...maybe not kill them, but definately shoot them.
Be as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove...
If I am sure that I will not die and live alone, then they can have whatever they want. If it looks like I will have a life or death fight on my hands, then the other guys going down. If I live with a family, well, I cannot gamble with their lives OR their reactions...so, that leaves me with the responsibility to deal with it myself.
But, kill? No, not if it can be helped.
