Death on Facebook

I go to another Christian chatroom that I met a girl and we talked lots and she added me to facebook. She lives in Netherlands. About 8 months ago she passed away from anaphylactic shock due to something. I had a hard time translating the dutch exactly. Although I never did get to meet her, we were really good friends and I always bugged her if I came to the Netherlands I was going to marry her. I just went back to facebook now and re-read the comments, very sad now.

My pastors at my church has used social networking with the church to connect and use current technology such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace (groups), and so on.

One of our pastors died suddenly after a conference...I think his FB page is still up.

I have a friend who recently vanished from fb and I can't contact him at all. I hope he is ok because he is an older friend in his 60's and I can't contact him and don't know anyone else that knows him so I don't know...

One of my classmates from high school died of cancer a little while ago. I was never really close to him, but we're Facebook friends and I read a lot of the updates and comments people left on his profile. Really sad. People still write on his wall every single day, and his parents have been updating his profile. I just looked at it, and they made him a birthday cake that said "Forever 19" on it.

I have a had quit a few friends/people I know from highschool die, including the valedictorian. She died taking a cab home from a bar when a cop hit the taxi running a light. We have a her a facebook group in her remembrance.

It's just heartbreaking really when FB suggests becoming friends with a dead person.
