What I don't see is any of the people of Israel going around the world and slaughtering others that won't.

I don't support Israel based on theological reasons, because the modern state of Israel is not the same as the Biblical nation of Israel.

I support Israel because they have been a very loyal ally to us, in spite of the awful way we've treated them and because they are a force for good and stability in a very volitile and dangerous region.

And by the way, in the future, do you think it would be possible to make your posts even more difficult to read?

On paper, I support Israel. In practise, it is not the ideal state that I and many Christians would like. I think a great deal of it is guilt; Jews had suffered persecution at the hands of Europeans for centuries, and the Holocaust was the last straw before Christians realized they had to start treating Jews as brothers rather than pieces of dirt.

I love how the phrase anti-semitic is thrown around when it is not justified. Most people who use that term i find tend to be very anti-muslim yet thats obviously ok. After all it must be fine to do all that killing of muslims (heard of the crusades) and then be hateful towards muslims. However if someone points to bible verse and suggests hey maybe this is what is happening to the jews they must be racist and anti-semitic and all that. Can we not have a rational discussion without trying to shut people down by using phrases that bring emotions that won't be helpful.

If they were being racist I will be the first to say hey that isn't acceptable but so far they haven't been.

I see what you mean, but usually anti-Muslim and pro-Israeli sentiments complement each other nicely. Look at it this way. A racist isn't going to openly say he hates Muslims, but he can always say he loves Israel citing this or that verse from the Bible and thus (indirectly) justify his bigotry against Muslims.

This is true. Calling Muslims names seems perfectly acceptable to most Christians, but even a word of criticism against Israel (not even against the Jews) magically becomes anti-Semitism.

Christians support Israel because they have been brainwashed to collectively forget pre World War II Jewish-Christian history, and they are not informed about current events concerning Israels conduct towards the US and other people throughout the world. From the Russian mafia to the Mossad spying on the US, Christians just don't know.
