Star Wars or Star Trek?

Honestly, I can't choose.

I chose Star Wars, but I like 'em both.

Trek. Star Wars is 6 movies, and the latest three were total garbage.

However, I admit I've probably only seen each movie once and I only saw Star Trek next generation and some of the classic ones.

Gundam 0079 and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam but it was not on the Poll but i chose Star Wars

it's always gonna be Trek for me... this is coming from a guy who dressed up twice for the new movie:
once for when it opened
again, a few weeks later

Star Wars holds a special place in my heart and will always be my favorite of the two... but I honestly enjoy both - and the newest Trek movie was awesome x)

Star Wars for the original 3 movies, and the BOOKS. Goodness, all the books, sooo good and soooo many.

I would have said Star Wars without a shadow of a doubt, if you'd asked me before episode 1-3 got made, now days I suppose it will have be to Star Trek just because of how much better it has lasted the test of time, and stayed true to its material unlike Star Wars.

Although I'll add that I really did not like the latest Trek movie.

I can't believe Star Trek is winning!

It's apples and oranges. Star Trek is true sci-fi: it takes philosophical and social ideas and translates them into a futuristic package, but the core is still the philosophy. Star Wars is action sci-fi. At it's core, it is an action story. They really appeal to different interests.

Furthermore, they've developed quite differently. The vast majority of the Star Wars universe at this point is fan-fiction: George Lucas retains little control over the phenomenon, and indeed the hardcore fans have actually written the newer trilogy out of existence and refuse to recognize it as lore. Star Trek's creators have kept somewhat tighter reins on the storylines and the characters in the various series. So as far as fan involvement, you're talking two totally different things.

If I have to pick, I guess I'm going with Trek.
