America's Got Talent is coming back. Starts on Monday night. Howie Mandel is the new replacement judge for David Hasselhoff's spot.

I'm looking forward to it. It's fun, although some of the people that show up for auditions are kind of bizarre, but when it gets down to the actual talent portion, it's fun.

Howie Mandel is a great improvement over David Hasselhoff. I can't stand the two hour episodes though, so full of bloat. I'm just fast forwarding through the crap to get to the performances.

I like Howie too. I liked him back when he had hair!

Looks like the judges are gonna have to start wearing portable buzzer buttons! That and put up flame-proof walls! Last night was nuts! Speaking of nuts... that guy who set himself on Genital Fire?? What? I thought this was a "family show"?

Of course, hubby thought it was really hilarious! ^_^

I agree. I think the Hoff still has a serious drinking problem and needs to be healing right now. Howie's funny and half-way intelligent.

Piers Morgan leaving after this season to take over Larry King's CNN job!

Piers Morgan to replace Larry King in CNN deal - Telegraph

It's a good sized contract that will place Morgan permanently in the US. I don't know if this is good or not. Will have to see how he does this fall on CNN.

A little history here: Piers was fired from a paper he was editor of because he had his own "Rather-gate". He published doctored photos of the war in Iraq to make it look bad for British soldiers. He is very anti-war and he let his own personal bias get in the way of accurate reporting. Keep this in mind if you watch him on CNN.

Fighting Gravity's pretty good! Never seen anything like them before and personally would like to see them make it. If another singer makes it, I'm not watching anymore.

Last night was pretty predictable execpt for Hannibal. I thought his song choice was brillant and maybe being cut at this point will turn out good for him.

I don't like how thry cleaned up Michael Grimm. I guess he looked to much like kevin Skinner.

I didn't really care for the YouTube episode. There were some good acts, but at this point I can't get into new acts. I just want to see the semis and finals.

The YouTube acts should have been included waaaaaay early on with the other auditions. Then whomever was selected could have gone through the quarter final cuts just like everyone else. It's not fair to them to throw them into the middle of semi final cuts, and it's not fair to the other contestants that they can miss the quarter final cuts.

I sure hope Fighting Gravity wins! No more predictable singers! Well, maybe that Poppycock dude, only because he actually puts some acting/theatrics in with his acts.

I know I don't want the little girl to win. Her voice is being ruined by the training she's getting. (I was a classically trained singer) They are trying to get her to sound older than her tender 10 years and frankly she's got some bad habits already. I'm sure the professional/operatic singing community is talking about it. She needs to go slowly and carefully, singing what's appropriate for age and vocal range. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up with nodes and her vocal folds by the time she's a teenager. It's so sad. She has a lot of potential but will likely be exploited.

You make a very good point. She's getting some good exposure to launch her career from the show, but you're probably right that winning would not be best for her. Plus, I really don't like the idea of a 10 year old having a headlining show in Vegas - that's not really appropriate for a child her age.

I agree about the 10 year old. She sounds good now, but what will all this Hollywood lifestyle do to her if she should win? Let her be a child while she can. There's already too many kids that are forced into the "grown-up"/celebrity world.
