"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." ( John 14:6 )

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." ( Romans 10:9-10 )

Jesus said there is only one way you can get to heaven. If you have not accepted Him as your Savior, you must or you will be condemned for eternity:

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ( John 3:18 )

To accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, simply do as the Bible tells us in Romans 10:9-10 above...believe in Him with your heart, and confess Him with your mouth. You can say this prayer or one similar for your confession:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins, and God raised You from the dead. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, amen.

If you just received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, welcome to the family of Christ, and to eternal life! Please read and study your Bible, and pray every day for guidance. If you don't have a Bible, here is one online: Blue Letter Bible.

I am your brother in Christ Jesus,

Keith

Hi Bill,

The reference is in the very first verse. Jesus says, "no one comes to the Father but through Me..." ( John 14:6 ). Father is in Heaven, so this is an indirect reference.

Other than that, there is no direct reference...the primary focus of the post is the importance of obtaining salvation through Jesus.

Hi Lbiagm,

It's wonderful to know that our Lord is with us always...

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. ( Isaiah 2:3 KJV )

I think that you can avoid confusion about heaven if you try to stay with what is said and not implied. I am doing my best to do the same.

It looks to me like Jesus said He was the way the truth and the life. what is this Jesus said there is only one way you can get to heaven. If you have not accepted Him as your Savior, you must or you will be condemned for eternity: I don't believe Jesus ever said you must accept Him as your savior. Nor do I think he said if you don't you will be condemned for eternity.

He Did say "come follow Me"

Hi Bill,

We are to 'confess Him with our mouth' and 'believe in our heart' ( Romans 10:9 ). Verbal confession brings salvation, and heartfelt belief brings righteousness ( Roman 10:10 ).

Jesus said Himself, if we're not willing to confess Him, He will not confess us before Father ( Matthew 10:32-33 ).

Jesus requires this of us, Bill. He loves us and wants us to voice our belief in Him to others. If you consider Him your Lord and Savior, it is His requirement that you do this for Him.

Keith

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. ( Romans 8:30 KJV )

Keith, I agree but you still did not answer my response: I don't believe Jesus ever said you must accept Him as your savior. Nor do I think he said if you don't you will be condemned for eternity.

Yes, He did, Bill:

You remind me of an attorney seeking a loophole within the testimony, Bill. You are correct in that Jesus did not say in 'His own words' that one would be condemned for eternity. However, all Scripture is given by "inspiration of God" ( 2 Timothy 3:16 ), and Jesus being One of the triune Godhead ( John 1:14 and 1 John 5:7 ), the condemnation spoken of in John 3:18 as such is factual, not presumptive.

Do you have Jesus as your Lord and Savior, Bill...or are you only wanting to debate 'how many angels will fit on the head of a pin'?

Yes I am a Christian and I am  only trying to help your generation avoid the pitfalls of mine. The language of "accept Jesus as your lord and savior" as far as I am concerned is so weak, It says nothing to the extreme kids today or the extreme call of Jesus.  The un-biblical term is so used it has become insignificant. And does not represent the radical Jesus I know.

I am not sure of your age but the young people I know want a bit of a challenge, like becoming like Jesus. More over, the heads of pins are too small for angles, I think.

I have actually accepted the call of Jesus to give up everything and follow Him. It is my disire that others will follow Him to, I don't know about "accepting Him as my personal Lord and Savior"

Just trying to be helpful and learn

your friend Bill

Even though we're very close to the same age, our mortal longevity makes no difference within the body of Christ, Bill. In eternal time, our lives are but a vapor which appears, then vanishes away ( James 4:14 ).

I mean absolutely no disrespect to you with my next statement, but in regards to your call to 'follow' Jesus: Even Judas chose to 'follow' Jesus, but not once did he ever call Him Lord. It is one thing to 'follow' Him by proclaiming His teachings, but it is quite another to refuse to confess Him.

Remember, Bill...this is Jesus' own words:

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." ( Matthew 10:32-33 KJV )

I am very concerned for you, Bill. Anyone can 'follow' Jesus from now till the Judgement Day, but unless they will confess Him as Lord, as He Himself said to do in the verses above, one cannot be saved...because, He is the only way ( John 14:6 ).
