Obviously, Photini disagrees with that opinion.....

Thanks for that news flash.

What do the facts about Obama say?

Evil or not?

He is a supporter of abortion on demand, including late-term abortion, and received the endorsement of NARAL and its highest rating. Obama is a supporter of the gay agenda and even endorsed the reading of the book Two Princes (if I recall the title correctly) to gradeschool children. He also believes in race-based quotas.

Obama is a consummate liar and hypocrite.

There is much much more I could add.

Disagree if you wish, but the facts are plain.

For me, Obama is a type and forerunner of the Antichrist.

It's not the Holy Spirit that inspires the adulation he receives.

Suit yourself.

It is beyond me how any Christian could know anything about Obama and the platform of the Democratic Party and support either.

A vote for him is a vote for evil, and that is the truth.

The only excuse I can see for supporting Obama is ignorance.

Orthodoxy doesn't tell you for whom to vote or which party to support, but if you get its principles the conclusions are plain.

Ok. I'll just sit over here in my evilness and be evil. There's plenty about each party that I can't agree with. Right now I lean democrat and pretty left. So?

Here's a quote from a friend of mine who is an Orthodox Christian and for whom I have a lot of respect for, and happens to be a democrat too.

The real enemy isn't fascism or socialism or communism or any ideological "ism". The enemy isn't the quasi-religious/political zealots, either.
According to Jesus, who said that it is out of the heart of the man that proceeds his evil deeds, the real enemy is our own greed, lust, and the desire to hold on to our things in which we put our trust, even if it means other people are dying all around us because they do not have what we have -- money, housing, food, health care.
That may well be the crux of the point. It's far easier to politicize spiritual life and to blame and scapegoat someone "out there" -- the homosexual, the socialist, the leftist, the fundamentalist, the African American, the atheist, the Jew, the illegal alien, the other -- than it is to blame oneself, and to actually strive to be virtuous.
As Alexander Solzhenitsyn writes in The Gulag Archipelago, "If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

Considering that the Orthodox Church hasn't said anything about Obama being "evil" or "the anti-Christ" etc. etc., perhaps we shouldn't judge. Frankly, I agree with Photini. One of the huge turn-offs about Roman Catholicism for me is the incredible political focus.

I think we need to simmer down here. The OP is about a window in a church. Many african-american churches hold certain black-american figures who were civil rights leaders or national figures in high esteem and sort of as saints. Quite a few ministers regularly quote them in their sermons. One of the more popular is W.E.B. Du Bois who i think is portrayed in the lower part of the window.

So, you are waiting for the Orthodox Church to make some sort of official pronouncement before your own knowledge of Christ tells you that it is wrong to support a politician who holds the very evil views Obama holds?

On the one hand it sounds like you need such pronouncements, yet you say it's a turn-off when the RCC supplies what you seem to need.

What is it about abortion and late-term abortion you find hard to place in the category of evil?

Is the gay agenda another thing you think Orthodox Christians can "agree-to-disagree" on?

We shouldn't judge? Are you joking?

By the way, I never said Obama is the Antichrist. I said he is a type and forerunner of Antichrist.

You folks are really shocking me. The inability to call evil what it is is not spirituality or wisdom or moderation.

If Obama can dupe even Christians like this, then he is more of a type and forerunner of Antichrist than even I imagined.

Isn't Harriet Tubman kind of an odd choice for the position of honor at the top? I feel like in these sorts of displays Martin Luther King Jr. is usually given the most prominent place.....

I don't expect them to be perfect, but I won't support one who is actually evil and a promoter of evil.

This is not the usual politics thing. Obama goes way beyond that. He is evil and a promoter of vile wickedness, including the murder of countless unborn babies.

Someone needs to say it.

Watching your lips includes knowing when to say what needs to be said. Silence in the face of such gross evil is a sin.

On some issues I agree with the Republicans and on others the Democrats. On a lot of issues I think they are both crazy! They are two sides of the same coin anyway. They probably work together behind the scenes and then laugh at the Americans who buy into the whole combative Jerry Springer circus.

There is plenty of evil perpetrated by republicans as well as democrats. The President of the United States is in a very difficult position, as is the leader of evyrt country. Rather than demonize him and call him evil, maybe we should pray for him. And ourselves.

No matter which side of the political spectrum you are on, people are going to die. Politics is what is evil.
