Everyone check your OSB, esp if you have the first edition. Turn to page 1385, Luke 10:2. If you are one of the unlucky ones, you translation may say "Then he said to slop the harvest is truly great but the workers are few." The correct translation is "Then he said to them the harvest is truly great but the workers are few."

This was the problem with my copy. It took a bit of harassment on my behalf, but I got my new copy today free of charge.

Eh. It isn't exactly uncommon for printed material to have a few errata.

Yeah if the monks had that attitude in the first 1500 years of Christianity prior to Gutenberg inventing the printing press we would not have scripture at all.

Some time before I finally bought my OSB, I'd look them over some. During that time, I'd come across quite a few that had a little "correction" card in the box. I can specifically recall your particular error being on that card. I think they corrected those errors in later printings.

There are STILL alot of mistakes in the later printing. However, the Luke 10:2 problem has been fixed.

There are thousands of differences in the ancient manuscripts, precisely because monks made errors!;)

Yep, there are whole bible passages missing in certain manuscripts. Some of these smaller Orthodox publishers publish books that are rife with typographical errors. My Popular Patristics version of St Cyprian's treatises, from SVS Press, calls something a "mute point" (it should be "moot point"). Regina Orthodox Press books tend to have a lot of small mistakes like that, too.

My solution is just to let them know about the mistake for future printings, and correct the error in my own copy with a pencil. I've never heard of anybody getting a free additional copy of a book simply on account of a minor error.

And I see Julina has posted one of the most notorious typos of all time: "Thou shalt commit adultery". :D

The entire late vocations class for the Diocese of Pittsburgh are all getting new ones, those of us who have defective ones. Everyone in my parish who has one is getting one as well.

That's super-nice of the publisher to allow that, then. I pre-ordered mine and received it upon release, and it does not contain that error.
